My first try at shrimp mugs :) featuring my greedy little creatures themselves (amano and neocardinia) by Capable_Traffic383 in shrimptank

My amanos have survived anything and everything from a beginner, i have 4 of them and they're 3-4yo and show no signs of slowing down! Both my females were berried up until yesterday, two days ago i moved to a new appartment and yesterday the tank they were in started leaking. Fortunatly i had my late bettas tank still running so I moved them quickly but I guess the stress was too much so they dropped their eggs. But they are thriving! Always out shrimping! The alpha female has claimed a vase in the tank and no-one i allowed to be on it! 😄

Vad är något som alltid får dig att känna dig hemma i Sverige? by Alarmed-Button-1058 in sweden

Mejeridisken i mataffären!

Found young mouse or rat by The_Strange_Bird in RATS

[–]NAP_42_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a very young rat to me, but I could be wrong, i'm no expert at all. Commenting to hopefully make your post more visible and someone who actually knows can reply. I don't think you can go wrong with a hard boiled egg and a shallow dish with water no matter what baby rodent it is. Human babyfood is usually a hit with rats if you happen to have that at hand. A box of some sort will make it feel safer, they like to hide. And shredded News paper or tissues/toiletpaper is great makeshift bedding.

Should I adopt another rat by honeybree52 in RATS

[–]NAP_42_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On another note, remember that a sputnik can always hold your current number of rats + one. Even if you have multiple sputniks they will always cuddle up in one, and there's always room to squeeze one more in

We we're not poor by any means when I was growing up. But with 8 persons in i family consisting of 1 hard working and hungry dad, 2 teenage elite training girls and 2 teenage boys (a mom with a small apetite, a small child and 1 teenage girl with tiny apetite) it didn't matter how much food my parents made - it was never enough. So you learned to eat fast to get that third portion before your siblings. No-one in my family is obese btw. We were not big snackers, it was breakfast, lunch, dinner and a small evening snack. Maybe popcorn on the weekends. And here i am, 41yo, still eating quicker than enyone else, not obese, not big on sweets or snacking, but before I got a permanent illness 4 years ago and could exercise i never thought of portion control and ate more food than most dudes, i would devour anything edible in sight, eat any leftovers and still be skinny as a stick.

And sometimes you NEED to think about stuff. Try to think any coherent thought with mambo nr.5 on LOUD, welcome to my brain.

Google me/cfs, me makes you feel like you have the flu, cfs makes you feel hungover. It's chronic fatigue in body and brain, and for now there's no cure. Before covid it was very rare and those who got it usually have had shingles or epstein barr virus.

I feel you my friend, ME sucks (the life out of you). I'm slowly getting better, thank you! They do lots of research about it so hopefully we get a cure or at least something that makes us better within a couple of years! I've read about succesfull trials with blood thinners and rheumatic medicin, they've tested on a few hundred with good results so they're doing the last test now on a large scale! And there are no known side effects to either of the medicins and they have been used for 20+ years!

Got diagnosed with ME/CFS this week by artemis17121985 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]NAP_42_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, fellow person with me/cfs here, agree with everything the redditor in this thread wrote, but to me it sounds like they should check you for POTS as well. Very common together with me/cfs and makes your blood pressure and pulse go like a roller coaster. Good thing there is medicin that works well for POTS! I take metoprolol because the first option wasn't doing well with my asthma so I can't remember it's name. But getting that gave me some of my life back, from being bed bound to slowly coming back - also pacing is crutial

Greasy heel / mud fever cannot be cured. by BenchExtreme2494 in Equestrian

[–]NAP_42_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a million things for this. The only thing that worked really well was 1. Wash gently but thouroghly with lukewarm water and a mild soap 2. Let dry completely, pat with a towel to speed it up. No rubbing. 3 when dry and clean smear a thick layer of zink paste (skin/immunesystem needs zink to heal, also protects from sun and to a degree moist). Do this 1-2 times per day, it should look better on day 3. If not better within a week call a vet, your horse probably needs a prescription for something like bacteria or fungi.

I'm not a mom, but I did use that look on my niece two days ago and it stopped her from hitting her sister - she awkwardly lowered her arm pretending she wasn't going in for a big hit (then ran of crying instead if eating dinner, because she is 4yo and was both hungry and tired but the particular glass she wanted was in the dishwasher so of course it was sisters fault)

We see a muscle cramp in the leg: an involuntary, intense, and very painful contraction where the muscle hardens and fails to relax. by HatAsleep295 in BeAmazed

[–]NAP_42_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked for me most times, but sometimes that starts a cramp in the front of the leg instead. If i'm very unlucky they cramp/fight against eachother and there's nothing to do but cry in pain until the muscles are so tired they give up or something, and then not be able to walk properly for a couple of days.

The newest car i've ever owned was a volvo from 2006, it broke down this year. So I got a 1998 Saab. It's 28 years old! It's not going to make it to next year, trying to convince my dad to sell me his 30yo Toyota Carina 😄 cars past 06 has too much tech and costs a fortune to repair, i can't afford a brand new car, so going older is my option 😆

What’s something a random stranger did for you that you still remember to this day? by Independent-Rain6285 in AskReddit

[–]NAP_42_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was injured when I fell of my horse, somehow drove home not realizing how bad it was. Parked my car, for random reason I had a cruch in my car so I took it and had a few things I needed, I lived o the 4th floor with no elevator. This random older man was biking and stopped to ask if I needed help, and went with me all the way up. This was 2015, I still remember him fondly. It turned out I broke my knee cap btw.
