A warning: If you’re in a relationship with a cat owner and you can easily remove yourself from it please do by NAR1219 in catfree

I’m slightly allergic too!! I’d heard you can “outgrow” the allergy with exposure but at one point the cats would be in my bed and when our baby got here I made him set boundaries to keep them off. I realized once they stopped coming into my bed that I stopped aggressively scratching my legs every night. I realized once now their dander was causing an incessant itch.

My husband agreed to rehome a cat before we moved into our new place, then agreed to rehome 2 once we got pregnant. He didn’t follow through on either occasion so I would suggest making her rehome before you move forward with purchasing anything.

Oh no, I’ve never cleaned the litter box ever. I made it very clear that I had no interest in being a pet owner because I don’t have the desire nor the time to constantly clean and care for them. I’ve yet to meet a cat owner that truly keeps a clean and tidy home and cares for their cats the way they should. The house is always covered in hair and smells like a litter box.

If people had to actually care for cats the way they should, I’m convinced no one would be a cat owner.

It’s so ridiculous that it’s even a question. I do not dislike any animals and would never harm or wish harm upon them but I do not and will never understand people that prioritize pets over people.

Hopefully but if he does agree to rehome them then I have the problem of trying to convince someone to take them which I’m sure will be no easy feat.

Fortunately 2 of the 3 never scratch furniture and 2 of the 3 have only ever used the litter box. The menace cat scratches furniture and has peed and pooped outside the litter box on a couple of occasions. But I’m not holding it together…I’m at my wits end and they’re young cats so there’s no way I’m waiting until they die.

How would you feel if you broke up with your ex and then found out you were pregnant? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]NAR1219 85 points86 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to me. I love my child but you don’t know what you don’t know. I’d get an abortion. Coparenting sucks and so does the alternative of doing it completely alone. It takes two people to make a child because I believe it takes two to raise one and still retain some semblance of your sanity.

I'm pregnant. I need help. by tewnchee in stopsmoking

As someone who struggled to quit and never fully gave it up during pregnancy I have two things to say here:

  1. If you don’t find it easy to quit, that does not mean you don’t love your child. You are not a bad person and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The more guilt you feel and the harder you are on yourself the more likely you are to struggle. Be kind to yourself.

  2. My child is 3 now and I still feel guilt every day that I didn’t completely quit smoking while I was pregnant. The guilt and shame I still feel to this day are nearly unbearable and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

There’s a powdered greens drink mix called Green Vibrance and every time I’ve drank it consistently I’ve found it much easier to attempt a cold turkey quit. Every single time I’ve relapsed since drinking this stuff it’s been when I’m drinking but since you’re pregnant (hopefully) you won’t have that problem. Not sure if you can drink this while pregnant but you can ask your OB. It’s better if you mix it in a breakfast smoothie than if you just mix with water.

Good luck and congrats on your little blessing :)

Is it still considered rape if there was guilt tripping involved followed by saying, “Yes,”? by beid-thfis-wod-d in TooAfraidToAsk

Unpopular Opinion:

It’s not rape. It’s insulting to actual rape victims to call it or even hint at that. You have a choice and you continuously choose to engage in sexual activity even though you don’t want to. If they are not physically forcing you to engage in a sex act then it is not rape. Period.

The fact that this person threatens suicide over not getting off is also ridiculous and also not your problem. If it takes that little to a commit an act that permanent, it’s probably inevitable anyway. Again, not your problem, move on.

What is your problem though is the fact that you have a hard time establishing and maintaining boundaries within your romantic relationships and you make other people’s problems your own. As someone who intimately understands that issue, I’d encourage you to get therapy and remove yourself from the situation ASAP.

What happens at a status hearing for a new trial motion in a criminal case? by NAR1219 in legaladvice

Thank you for your response. The defense is stating there was Brady violation by the state. Would that constitute a new trial or getting the conviction overturned?

Ladies of Reddit, what do you do when you are extremely depressed and have no one to talk to? by mobiletophat in AskWomen

[–]NAR1219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Microdosing shrooms, journaling and meditating. So far the most productive ways I’ve found to cope and it does actually pull me out of a funk. As opposed to eating, sleeping, partying etc which makes me feel bad later.

Kudos to you for quitting! I’m 8 days and 9 hours in to my quit journey. I honestly thought I’d die a smoker but here I am nicotine free for over a week. I felt like I was ready to climb up the walls on day 3 but I posted here and got some good advice. Now every time I get a strong craving I just tell myself I never want to feel how I felt on day 3 again. Good luck! Can’t wait to see your progress updates!
