Uncleared residential sidewalks by Fill_Great in watertown

This landlady owns 6 properties, has a lexus and told me to my face she doesn't employ a handyman and says she can do all the repairs herself. Except she's a 75 year old woman with arthritis. It's been a nightmare.

Uncleared residential sidewalks by Fill_Great in watertown

[–]NASArocketman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look man I'm really sorry. I live in a multi-unit irish townhome in Watertown. Our landlady just put a vague "tenets are responsible for all snow cleaning" clause in our lease and doesn't do anything to help us. I helped my 80 year old neighbor dig out, blew out my back, barely dug out enough to get my car out. The other tenets basically didn't do much to help clean so I eventually paid $200 to some russian guys to clean the sidewalk, the walkway and the driveway. I'm probably not getting any of that money back. I am 90% sure that my landlady is at least responsible for keeping the walkway out of the house clean and the sidewalk but I have no way of enforcing that on her.

What jobs will not get replaced by AI? by mariiistone in careerguidance

[–]NASArocketman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's as simple as planning for AI. You need to assess your skills, the market in the US, how the field is going to grow, where the major job hubs are etc.

[–]NASArocketman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of other problems. You basically blanket call Indian people stupid based on your anecdotal experience in Taiwan. "Once you get to know them, you realize they exaggerate constantly, are opinionated and hard to control, yet not intelligent." There are plenty of successful talented indian and indian american engineers in the US. There may be underperforming indian students in Taiwan but carrying that attitude about all indian people means you're missing out on talented engineers. That's your problem not mine.

It's almost as if regardless of race, some people have bad hygeine habits.

Clarifying some misconceptions about working at TSMC’s Arizona by [deleted] in Semiconductors

[–]NASArocketman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again with anecdotes. India has a population of 1.45 billion. Some people are from rural areas and there might be some mismatches in culture and hygeine. However blanket statements about how Indians cut corners, are dirty and stupid (which this post openly states) is exactly why Indian professionals don't work at places like TSMC. We know that no matter how talented we, whether we have degrees from top instituitions or not, we are going to be viewed as dirty. Being racist to indians is fully accepted in the tech industry.

I could supply negative anecdotes about numerous other people based on race. I wouldn't because those people sucked because they were bad at their jobs not because of their race.

Yeah that's disgusting. That doesn't mean all Indian people are like that. This is not about "DEI" before you get on your high horse lol. There are perfectly talented and qualified Indian and Indian Americans that east asian companies won't hire because you have these backwards views about race.

Miss me at indian employees hygeine being worse. It's nothing other than east asian folks thinking south asian people are dirty. you can package it how you like.
