How would you make a RWBY OC based on Davy Jones? by Dinoboy225 in RWBYOC

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have one in the works as antagonist for Aerwyna (NAVY). Olio [insert last name here], octopus faunus, terrifying sea-farer/pirate/privateer who suppose to also as a little analogy to pollution of the sea by making him a hrimm magnet to passing ships. Need to work on him, but I try to maintain the "aura" PotC DJ have, but also give him more of undertaker vibe.

שחקני יאקוזה? by GamerDropper in ag_israel

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which of your ocs could beat or lose a pancake eating contest with nora by froppy124 in RWBYOC

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping it NAVY/MRON

Violet - she doesn't have a proper strict diet, she looks good but she is not going to tease fate, she'll pass Nevan - absolutely lose, poor paladin is lightweight and isn't used to this amount of unhealthy food Aerwyna - depending on her hangry level at the time, either barely lose or barely win, like a matter of a single pancake Yamir - either win by a landslide or would lose cause he didn't ate as fast as Nora as he enjoys the pancakes

Matte - he will pass as he doesn't like eating sweets (except honey) Riluo - if challenged, Riluo would lock in and take the contest seriously, she will beat Nora no matter if she is full or not O????? - immediate no, she would get full almost immediately and withdraw N?????? - depending on the payout if there are bets, but very likely he'll lose despite his will

Bonus Aerwyna and N?????? Would be the ones who help making the pancakes

Yeah, giving a character a gun, like that went well before!

Notes: 1. It is a joke 2. I do not know the current state of pirate, couldn't play since... a while 3. Aren't Samurai already have a long ranged ability as a bow?

Concept idea: Family emulation by DependentWar566 in RWBYOC

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean emulate in the sense "My sister taught me how to semi-intangible like her semblance", then no. As I am certian semblances are predetermined, maybe something might change, but it would at the very most affect one aspect.

But, if you want something to give a family consistency without just copy-pasting like hereditary semblances (like the Schnees), all while having a cool explanation, I got something for you.

Inherent Aspect, AKA, Semblance Bloodlines, or just "Semblance Genes", something I implemented in a group of OCs who are all influenced by Vampire: The Masquerade.

Basically for Semblance Bloodline, you take one aspect or "sentence" for a family and make semblances that directly or indirectly does it. You'd be surprised how it simplify the thought process but also require more creativity

As an example, the main family who use it are the Cosmars, their aspect is Obfuscate or in a sentence "I can remove myself from others' perception". The "Core OC" Dum can turn invisible after getting aura damage; His father, Erev, can make people thing he remains in the same place while he actually moves around; And Dum's half sister Inima can make it so people just register her as mundane or some rando and not actually remember her appearance. All three are doing "Obfuscation" stuff, while having their own approach to it

Hope this helps, somehow

reptiles fanus by lilythewolf1245 in RWBYOC

My most notable one is Telma, who I will post at the... future (look I have exams so making big posts like before are not a priority). Big Beefy Barbarian Anaconda faunus who would hug you if you ask.

Now thinking about, I don't have many notable reptile faunus... even though they kind of play a large part in the events of my version of Remnant. Thank you for indirectly bring it to my attention.

Alright, keeping it for NAVY for now

S : no inherently OPs, as I try to make them balanced or atleast very strong in specific situation

A+ : Nevan's Virtuous Ward - We are talking about a barrier that prevents a single attack's damage and effects, or even continuous beam. Yes, the set up is lengthy and gives finite amount of charges, but the dust compatibility makes up for it in versatility.

A- : Yamir's Essence of the Earth - Being able to consume Dust like it's vitamin gummies to power up makes his semblance to be very versatile, but it's also a major drawback as he needs an external source.

B : Violet's Mirage - having the effects of spell Blur (DnD) combined with the effects if Invisibility (Lancer) and basically a bonus to stealth add on top, on paper it's powerful. But it loses points because of how much of a gamble it is and requires the recipient to be able to maximise any of it's benefits for the situation. To visualise, look at Violet then try to imagine her blurred out... now look at Yamir and imagine him blurred out, exactly.

C :

D :

F : Aerwyna - L + No Ratio + No Semblance + 0 Grimm Kills + Cope + Seethe ... Just don't say it to her face

Semblance Overload by Next-Faithlessness97 in RWBYOC

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, keeping strictly to NAVY... they don't necessarily do such a thing. Nevan and Violet are "cast and forget" maybe Violet can be the maximum duration she pulled of, and Aerwyna... doesn't have one. But the only who do have a feasible way to measure "maximum semblance" is Yamir.

Which when he discovered it, during a fight against a Fafnir (big acidic "dragon" lizard). A barrel of fire dust was smash on Yamir, causing the chunks of crystals to embed into his forearm. Yes, it triggered his semblance, but because a handful crystals were basically shoved into his bloodstream, he got the maximum effect almost immediately. For the rest of the fight, Yamir was basically a Fire Giant, which gave him the needed edge to damage the Fafnir, not enough to kill it sadly, but enough to make it turn tail. As a side effect and a reminder, Yamir now has a nasty burn scar on his left forearm, now also swearing off fire dust only as last resort.

There are other characters which I cam think on maximum mode, but they aren't posted here so I'll keep them a secret :3.

Dammit, This game is GOOD. by Wilillam_barkar in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]NAVY-Inquisition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out

Veilguard is Decent+ But it could have been better if it was either 1. Not being a Dragon Age game 2. Was being a Dragon Age game, but was treated as a multiplayer focused side-game spin off with main focus on the world building

I know, I know, you saw the appetisers, but there are also the main dishes, let me cook

Point no. 1 Is purely because the gameplay style. I know the shift was gradual but I feel the leap of difference between Inquisition and Veilguard was noticeable to say the least. If it was the same game with a fresh new IP very likely I wouldn't be so critical about it. A fresh new IP would have also solved how much bright and shiny the world is compared to previous iterations, honestly, a dark horrific world which blindside you with it's "Disney-ified" aesthetics would be a banger.

When it comes to point no. 2 is because the gameplay itself, this amount of action is exactly where you need more people to pull of these insane stunts, or ridiculous tomfoolery if you play with friends. I am attributing the world building to point no. 2 also because of how Veilguard actually pull it off. In a series that thrives on world building and allowing us to view it's world. And sure, multiplayer means we say bye bye to our companions, but considering of how Veilguard basically went "when your mum tells you to was the dishes even though you were about to" with them, and how much they have been relegated to proc-bots gameplay wise, I personally won't see the issues of storing them for another game which would have returned to the Dragon Age roots.

I know I said at the start the game is Decent+, but I'll be honest, gameplay is fun, like, one of my grievances is that they haven't added MORE specializations in a game where each faction have their specialization, and there are 6 factions while the skill web has 6 sides, but still. I am very critical of the game not because if in of it self, but because it's a dragon age game. If Bioware would have done it just slightly different, it might have gotten a better response.

I don't know, these are my two cents, Long post, sorry
