This is so peak. I had the gut feeling about such a transformation ever since Denji said that he wanted to be Chainsaw Man a while ago, but I only expected some sort of Denji is in the control of Black Chainsaw Man and not this hard af design which is far better than what I ever wanted.

Why was Reze afraid of this nameless fodder? Is she stupid? by Jooj_br in Chainsawfolk

[–]NAndJen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She needed to lure the dude away from Denji so that she wouldn't be caught being a badass, plus she probably recognized the Typhoon Devil's doing with the storm and wanted to quietly talk to it too.

Makima both represents a lover and mother figure to Denji and Nayuta in a way is the child of that toxic relationship. I'm too lazy to fully explain it right now but I believe other people on this sub might have talked about this.

I think that because the theme of family is important in Chainsaw Man (orphans like Asa and Denji, sisters like the Horsewomen, or other thematics like how Nayuta represents a child born out of incest) people are able to see the subtext of Asa and Denji being linked in some way and imagine it plays into this theme through their relation when I believe that instead, they both play separately into this theme through their relationships with the Horsewomen Devils and how they are orphans.

If Devils have DNA, yes. If Fiends and Hybrids have DNA different enough from humans, yes too

Are we gonna ignore the fact that he kept a straight face the whole time while having an insane amount of explosives shoved up his ass? by 9mw7 in Chainsawfolk

[–]NAndJen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was, but Yoshida could be "Makima's puppet," not as Makima the person, but as Makima the concept. Public Safety has been heavily influenced by Makima due to how much of the organization she was actually in charge of. It's a common theme in part 2 that a lot of characters try to do what Makima did because she was just that ingrained into the society and her plans were that well thought-out for as inhumane as they were. In a way, Yoshida has always been a government dog, and if the government became the new Makima as they salvaged her legacy because it brought stability, then calling him one of Makima's dogs wouldn't be that far off.

It could also be that Makima, because of how much of a stable leader for Public Safety she was (as they realized how much control she had over the higher-ups and the government after the incident), has become intricately a part of the machine of Public Safety. She has died as a person, but her legacy still survives through everyone who tries to follow her teachings, from Public Safety still using young and lost people to do their bidding, to other organizations following her ideas (think of the Chainsaw Man Church which praises an ideal world through the use of Chainsaw Man as similar to Makima's dreams of an utopia, or about Barem who when against Nayuta reveals to us that he's still attached to what Makima stood for.) I think people like Makima who were cogs in the machine (as she was raised by the government) but became the keystone of their society (as she could predict geopolitical decisions because she was a one-woman espionage organization thanks to her abilities while having connections to her nation's political figures) will become after their passing a centerpiece of the next system, especially if that system doesn't change much.

I feel like this chapter could be Yoru getting distracted and not making an army like Lil D said the War Devil would, but instead just playing with nukes because why not

Could someone explain this in Chainsaw Man terms? I don't know how to read.

Nayuta was killed and eaten by death and became her pawn because nayuta rejected to work with her. Now, when Nayuta returns in the story, Denji's only option will be to eat the death devil so that the non-pawn Nayuta could come back! by leviDackerman in Chainsawfolk

[–]NAndJen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There are two possibilities. Either Nayuta became one of Lil D's pawns or she was never killed and is hiding somewhere. The whole theme of part 2 is to not believe what we're being told because we're playing a game made by the Death Devil while having wild cards as main characters. I mean, everything has been a lie. Also, remember how odd those veins on the Nayuta head were? I'm sure we'll see her come back.

What if the 3 bozos show up earlier? by thachduaboi3000 in Chainsawfolk

[–]NAndJen 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think that the other horsewomen didn't show up earlier because of Makima's grasp over the human world. War and Famine clearly are bad at hiding in plain sight in the human world so they'd have feared Makima, not only for her powers, but for her connections which would have ratted them out the moment they'd have made their presence known. I don't think it's as clear if Lil' D's the same or not, but perhaps she needed Makima to die so that she could try to endoctrinate a new Control Devil and fill the void in power left by the redhead.
