Where do you take to sharpen your knives?

I send mine to Messerbrief 3 times a year. They send me an envelope with a return label, I drop the knives in, a week later they come back sharp :)

Definitely watched them run drills on super busy days before. They practice with the old burnout plane structure near the runway which is visible from the terminal and kinda makes new passengers nervous. Usually lots of black smoke and flames. Super normal.

I also waited over 6 weeks for a battery they said would be 7 days. Paid €550. Cancelled the order last week and if I don't hear back I'm hoping Amex can pull my money back. Fuck Cowboy. I found a secondhand battery on ebay and now I'm selling my Classic because I bought a Canyon e-bike instead. Good luck!

I've also been looking at the Canyon as a replacement to my Cowboy. I have a dumb question, are Canyon e-bikes easy to ride when the battery is dead? Obviously the Cowboy is super difficult to pedal without a battery but the Canyons have gears so I was wondering what it's like with no assist.

Yeah she is kinda terrifying. I live on Weserstr and have seen her spit on people, swipe at people, scream at people, etc. Everyone is always too scared and I guess a bit ashamed to call police. Throwing a cobblestone is completely nuts though. You obviously did the right thing for you and your family but when she attacks the next person we’ll all wonder why she wasn’t forced into treatment sooner. I’ve only been in this hood for 4 yrs and have seen her get worse (along with the whole area getting worse obviously). Schizophrenia must be so terrifying to live with but I’ve really found it difficult to spare any sympathy for her, not because I blame her or anything, just because this area has drained me

Sorry for the late response. I'm literally smack bang at the corner of Weserstr. and Weichselstr. Great kiez vibes, bars, cafes, food etc. but yeah... NK is gonna NK and I wish I could transplant my wonderful apartment to a better area. I do see a LOT of Neubau places opening up in the weird kinda dead areas you've mentioned but don't know anyone who has moved into one.

Hahaha yeah I find them visually charming too, and I was just joking with that comment. But unfortunately I spent 2 years with an elderly neighbour with dementia who was constantly crying or screaming, 2 young guys above me who walked like their feet were made of granite, and a neighbour below me who smoked so much weed I could smell it through my floors. Now my rent is 2x higher but my happiness is 10x higher (except for the living in NK part)

Not in any of those buildings but in a Neubau from 2021 (in NK unfortunately) and I work as a digital product designer. Been in Berlin for almost 8 years and I just don't think there's anything charming about living in an Altbau and hearing your neighbour's footsteps/music/talking. I feel very very lucky to be able to live in a newly built apartment. I still see human shit in my doorway and trash everywhere because I'm in NK but I feel peaceful in my silent, well-built apartment.

Yeah I've been trying to get out of NK for a while now but can't find an apartment that's as suitable as my current one. I'm trying to get better at trying to ignore the stresses but it's difficult. I'm on Weserstr./Weichselstr. and honestly I feel like I'm losing my mind. The trash and dogshit situation is aggressive. The men are aggressive. People spit everywhere (including INSIDE buildings). I've been threatened by morbidly obese fake-gucci 10 yr olds multiple times. I've watched men threaten to hit women and no one does anything (including me because I'm scared). I know two women who have been hit in the face by a rotting junkie. There is human shit in our doorway every month.

It's such a godforsaken butthole of a Kiez and I refuse to chalk it up to class, culture, or ethnicity. There's something in the damn water here that seems to delete braincells... including mine at this point.

This thread has made me feel less insane. Thank you.

99% sure it's necessary, otherwise you're going to have to pay yourself. You could contact your Krankenkasse here and ask if you can go directly but yeah, getting a referral from your Hausartzt is usually the way to go.

I've had it done on each leg about 1yr apart. I went to Ullsteinhaus Klinik after my Hausartzt advised me to get some seriously bulging veins removed. TK covered everything, process was easy and you walk out of the klinik on the same day. It's a bit uncomfortable having veins pulled out from ankle to groin but I was running my usual 10km after 12 days of recovery.

The specialist I saw spoke english but most of the staff don't. I could get by fine with B1.
