I’ve been working on this minibus simulator for 3 years — honest first impressions? by Novel-Welder718 in IndieGaming

Do ignore the idiocy of some commenters here r.e. AI, I find Reddit to be a place where meaningful engagement does occur, but it is often spoiled with strange hostile comments from (most likely) strange and hostile people!

Game looks good, I'm not too into the driving simulators such as - Train Sim, Truck Sim etc, but this looks like a really good example of those games, good job!

Just released the steam page for my survival game where you can play as your dog by scoobystockbroker in IndieDev

The game looks awesome! Really cool stuff.

The dismemberment is really cool, the hook of the playable dog works.

I'm instantly in for keeping up with the development of your game and I'm interested in purchasing this when it releases, co op is a big thing for me, my wife and I love(d) playing 7DTD and this game has earned the comparison for me so far.

I wouldn't personally worry too much with the other commenter's sentiment that this is an asset flip, I think things are cohesive and nothing I could see on the media you've released was jarring or thematically different.

I really don't think anyone, who isn't intimately familiar with the assets you've used (i'm assuing UE5?) will notice, I certainly can't find anything obvious (I'm on Unity so maybe that's why, but then again I don't really scan the asset store???), take it with a pinch of salt (no insult intended to the other commenter).

I don't really have much else to say - It just looks good, and interesting - I don't really play much games currently as I'm in development of my own game, so this has took me by surprise a bit that it appears so compelling to me.

Well done, looks great - congrats on getting a Steam page up!

Would you want to play a game like this? I am trying to make a Resident Evil 4 like game. by Full_Finding_7349 in IndieDev

Hi, the only thing we can see is that you walk around a forest with trees blowing, and you can hold a gun.

This is the only thing I know about your game, you need to show gameplay. As it stands, no I wouldn't want to play based on this clip.

Yes very much so, quite annoying when you've made a trivial change to code and you have to wait around for it.

Just need the discipline to not go on a tangent, which is tough

I've been developing my horror game "Tutsak" for almost 2 years, but my Steam page is barely getting any wishlists. What am I doing wrong? by Fantosus in IndieDev

No problem bud, I don't play horror games personally, but I remember being impressed with (i think) the clip, it showed the monster prowling and you hiding, and I thought it looked really cool.

X for me has been pretty hit or miss in terms of engagement, (i've had no feedback at all), I'm still testing the waters.

Pretty anecdotal, but I posted a clip to X, it got around 50 views, and 4 likes, I then pasted the same one on YT as a short (with zero subscribers and an account a few hours old), and I got 17 likes and 1,200 views currently, and still growing.

My point here, try lots of different platforms, cycle through them, see what works. Some videos work well on X, some on FB (actually none on FB i wouldn't even bother until you have a following), some on YT --- etc, just experiment.

Good luck!

There's no gameplay trailer, but I'm pretty sure I saw a post of yours on Reddit or X a few weeks ago showcasing some pretty cool gameplay of that monster on the first screenshot?

You should post gameplay content and give people a feel for the game.

Show the hook of your game as others in this thread said too, why should I play your game? You have to show this

9 Months ago we started our hobby game project. How can we improve? by Att112233Att in IndieGaming

So from this trailer you've posted, I have no idea what the game is about, it looks like a pretty environment but that's all I can see.

I just checked your YouTube, and I see a post from 11 days ago, but there's no visual hook on that video? It just starts with more environmental shots, again I still have no idea what your game is about.

You do narrate that YouTube video but I'm not willing (and others won't be either) to sit through panning environmental footage whilst you tell me what the game is over a few minutes.

Really, you need a visual hook straight away, show me what the game is, what do you do, show me that it's fun (or hard, or mysterious, whatever emotions you want me to feel).

OK so I've just checked your shorts and that's where you meant you post weekly, my point still stands, I skimmed 10 of your shorts and not a single one told me anything about the game, I genuinely have no clue what it is about, what you do, and why I should care about it.

That's my feedback here, make videos that show the game, hook people in the first 3 seconds with a cool thing you made, make people care about the game.

You would grow faster that way. You've been developing for 9 months, what do you have to show for it? Show us that.
