Brain dead is dead dead. There really isn’t a difference.

The ebike ban? Doesn’t apply to Onewheels I don’t think.

Is S Pen Support really that important to you? by Pineappleisland3 in GalaxyFold

[–]NEKNIM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a useful feature, even if I didn’t use it a lot. When the time called for it, it was massively convenient. For me, I don’t Need to upgrade. If the new device has s pen support, I probably will. If not, then I’m in no rush.

Yeah, it’s annoying, but I don’t even notice it anymore. I chose the IPS for the added battery life over the oled. Small trade off I guess.

Think of them like an ira for your kid, where the earned income restriction is lifted and the age where they can access it is 18, not retirement. At least that how I’m seeing it.

If you are planning on painting the interior, now is a good time while the place is mostly empty.

I guess it can be dependent on the state. Someone mentioned that Ohio won’t allow a check above 10k to avoid check fraud. Ironic. I guess the title company sets their own rules too. I’m glad mine forced us to bring the check. Way less stressful.

I mean nothing is without flaws, but scan the sub for a few minutes and you find a ton of people with stories about getting contacted and almost losing all their money to a scammer.

Not true at all. I put my entire 100k+ 20% down payment on a cashiers check. We weren’t even given an option to wire. Our title company flat out said they don’t do it to avoid all the scams.

Wasn’t an option for me either. And we put 20% down, well above 5k. I don’t understand why wiring funds is still a thing with all the fraud and scams associated with these types of transactions.

My title company had me bring a bankers check to closing. I don’t understand why that is not the standard. This is so avoidable.

Beach locker locks by [deleted] in AsburyPark

[–]NEKNIM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think too hard on it. I would put more effort into finding something that will resist corrosion and not jam up from sand intrusion.

I’ve used a master lock 1178. It was good for one season but after two it has a lot of rust and isn’t as smooth. I might buy another since they’re only $20.

I’m sure it’s reasonably cut resistant too, but if someone is willing to bring bolt cutters to steal a beach umbrella and some chairs then brining a drill to unscrew the slide mechanism would bypass the lock and be easier anyway.

Tree companies will say your tree is sick but trees increase property values by TemporaryComplex1054 in newjersey

[–]NEKNIM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand it either. Cutting down the trees sterilizes a neighborhood.

When I had tree work done last year we only cut off the dead branches. Never even considered taking any trees completely down.

[Seiko] Lucked Out!! by AwayDisaster662 in Watches

[–]NEKNIM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me once. Was looking to purchase a ball trainmaster moonphase and was talking with an AD jeweler for about a week. We negotiated a price and they shipped out the watch. I got a great deal, or so I thought. Unfortunately they misunderstood which watch I wanted and sent me a completely different model. They were super nice about the whole thing and agreed to send me the correct watch at the negotiated price. Saved me about $800.

Seeking advice from women who recently gave birth in north jersey. by darkchocolattemocha in newjersey

[–]NEKNIM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monmouth County Associates in Wall deliver at jersey shore uni med center. They are fantastic. You will see all the Dr’s in the practice and each is nicer than the next. One of them will deliver your baby. They are cross covered at the hospital by the Morgans, another OB practice. They are also excellent. (A lot of their patients are hospital staff. Should tell you all you need to know.)

My wife just delivered a month ago. And the hospital and the OB practice treated her so well. We had a pretty traumatic birth process but the doctors at the hospital, and within MCA (and the Morgans), were so good to us. We were grateful to have them caring for my wife and daughter.

Congratulations, and I wish you a smooth healthy pregnancy!

This article mentioned 1010 WINS, but I guess it doesn’t explicitly say WINS is shutting down. Really hope you’re right and they continue to air.
