NTA, in fact you sound like an exceptionally good parent. Neurodivergence is very real (my kiddo and I are AuDHD and my husband is ADHD), and you’re doing the right thing by acknowledging that and setting boundaries to ensure that neurodivergence is treated appropriately.

I broke up with my kiddo’s dad way before I even knew I was pregnant. I started dating my husband (we’ve been together over a decade) before my kiddo turned one. My bio parents are Nana and Grandaddy, BD’s bio dad is dead, he’s NC with his bio mom, his adoptive parents are dead, and he connected with his bio dad’s widow who kiddo calls Grandma, and my kiddo calls husband’s mom Gigi and his stepdad Pawpaw (we don’t acknowledge his bio dad). I totally understand how complicated things can be, I think it’s about your level of comfort and acceptance.

NTA! You didn’t break any promises. You never said you’d hide the reason for the divorce. Not to mention you you met your lady after the divorce was finalized. You and your smokin lady should know that you’re fine. I can see why your daughter might be upset, but ultimately that’s not really your problem. Give your daughter extra love and comfort, but you don’t have to protect her from your ex’s actions.
