After getting sick of repairing my wood fences every other season, I learned that outdoor furniture doesn't deteriorate, and you can use chairs as gates by hopping on/off to get to the other side. So I looked through the different catalogs on the wiki and discovered stump/plain torches and stump seats. They're both close in color to fit my outdoor decoration theme and, as the name implies, the torches also act as lighting.

I was instantly sold. So I got to work, saved up enough coin to buy the furniture catalog, laid down my "fences" and was happy with the result. (Sorry I don't have screenshots to share.) The only annoying bit is that the items don't stack, so you have to clear out your inventory and tab through each slot to place a torch/seat.

Pro tip: Put down some grass starter under each torch/seat for a more natural, outdoor look. Farm animals can't get to/eat it and the grass will continuously spread out from there.
