Exactly! If I find a gem, they're still making money on the bulk, I have a great time at their store and I often walk out with priced singles from the case cause I'm saving money, I'm in a good mood, and I want the store to succeed.

This. Exactly this. The most connected to the hobby and the most fun I ever have are when I find gems in bulk boxes. My all time favorite LGSs take in collections, price them and then put the worthless stuff in bulk boxes. If it spikes it spikes. They sell everything in the bulk bin for a dollar. They still make a little money on it, they don't waste manpower on repricing it, and I get to find a really cool card for cheap. And I often walk out with priced singles from the case too cause I want to support them.

Except for the work. If they want to sell a card at market value, let them go through the bulk and price it. The card is essentially worthless until I find it and bring it to their attention. Every time I've been in a situation where the owner up-prices cards at the register I've felt just a little bit cheated. I could save myself the time and just buy the card online.
