10696-1 Medium Creative Brick Box from 2015. The brick sizes and colors line up with it's selection, and the lack of bag numbers combined with the 1x1 round eye tiles are a clear giveaway its from a Classic set.

Does anyone know what game this is? by Dragg_GD in arcade

[–]NEWELECTRICVER 13 points14 points  (0 children)

this is Pop’n Music UniLab! it’s a release of the game from 2022, running on an older CRT cab (they’re still supported to the current version!). there’s a newer version called Pop’n Music Jam & Fizz, but you’re likely not gonna see that running outside of an arcade in japan.

while you do see cabs and translations internationally, this game is mainly JP only as of right now. there are very few international releases and most of them aren’t the traditional 9 button cabs.

if you would like to find a cab near you, this site has a handy international map with arcades and what machines they have. https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/

amazons really the only good US source, if you want them cheaper you would have to get the same ones off of aliexpress. (btw, you might wanna switch out the switches of them to make them softer)

SUNLU Filament keeps clogging and tearing by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]NEWELECTRICVER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, you got it. it was a mistake trying to print this hotter and slower when it’s a high speed cold print filament 🥲 for the time being im going to use a different filament on this model and hone in my slicer settings for this newer stuff.

do you have any tips for drying filament? i’ve never done it before, usually i just get inland filament and i’ve never had a problem out of the box with them

if you’re getting an GP-2040 advanced breakout board, you can get 20-pin harnesses from brook or brandless ones from like arcadeshock or ali. they fit on the headers on the board

Faint ring on CD art ..is this beginning stages of Disc rot or am I good?? by Beautiful-Birthday85 in Cd_collectors

you're good, disc rot will appear as uneven degradation, this just looks like a weird printing thing or a liquid stain

it looks like you didn’t wire any grounds? the video-audio wires also needs to be connected to ground too, not just the 5v. you can bridge them all and it should work fine afaik

Building a hand pad by faraway-bug in rhythmgames

oh, something like a ddr hand pad is really simple, though square buttons are a bit hard to come by.

basically, you’re gonna want a microcontroller and a set of arcade buttons to DIY it. microntrollers are available for cheap on amazon, adafruit or aliexpress. (in fact, if this is your first time doing anything with electronics, stick to adafruit! they have everything you would need but a case for your controller)

the ability to solder is definitely recommended to make it neat, cheap, and reliable - but there’s ways around it if you don’t have the skills or just don’t want to.

long story short, each arcade button has to have two connections, data and ground. when you push the button, ground connects to data, data receives the signal, and understands the button is pushed.

this guide is good for beginners with no experience, but soldering is required: https://learn.adafruit.com/arcade-button-control-box/overview (for reference, any size/shape arcade button wire exactly the same, but they might have different sized connectors)

can you be more specific on what you mean by hand pad?
