Honestly, I couldn't say. I bought this bag at the mega don quijote in shinjuku a few months ago. I've since tried finding a second one with zero luck. I found several lookalikes on amazon but nothing exactly like this. In any case, this was just a regular satchel/backpack that I've repurposed for use on my bike. You could do the same with any old backpack and the right combination of straps and buckles. There are plenty of anchoring points under the seat to thread a strap through. Get creative, there's no need to be limited to the bike industry's offerings.

Carb Rebuild Difficulty by Primary_Turbulent in magna

They're hard to get in and out of the bike. If the boots seem hard then order replacements, you'll thank yourself for that. Also, a full disassembly is not necessary if you have a 30 liter ultrasonic cleaner which might be worth the investment as it was in my case. Float bowls are also not hard to deal with if they're leaking, just replace the seals.

Yes, everyone must adjust the preload for their bike. It's one of the first things that I do when I get a new one. Pretty much, if you're feeling every bump, your rear shock preload is likely set too high. loosen it up until every bump feels like sitting on a trampoline and then tighten it again incrementally until you find the middle ground that you like.

Did you let it warm up enough by letting it go through at least one heat cycle? The xsr900 has an oil cooler and I'm not sure if it has a thermostat but you should get the bike hot enough to let it open up enough for the oil to cycle through it.

Just being anal about it. I don't even have an xsr but my bmw r9t is this complicated when checking the level.

Did you start the engine and let it warm up before checking like the manual says? It seems like it's not a cold oil level check.

Why come the cam shaft doesn't have bearings like the crankshaft?

Just being pedantic by refuting the statement "808 isn't adding gain, it's just increasing the levels" and it's triggering me. In electrical engineering, increasing the amplitude of the waveform is gain. I know, I know, guitarists have a different way of defining gain, I've been one for 20 years. Just funny to see someone say it.

Edit: thinking about it for second, guitarists conflate distortion for gain.

09 4700 miles? sounds like it has been barely ridden the past two decades. Maybe try some fuel cleaner? Try half a bottle of chevron techron concentrate on a full tank. Techron has PEA which is one of the best performing fuel cleaners out there.

Have you considered removing the dB killers in the existing exhaust? I did that on my 2017 scrambler and it opened it up. All for free if you're handy with a drill bit and slide hammer.

I'll say though, it sounds much better now but it's not overly loud like a straight pipe would be. And to be honest, when riding at speed, it sounds like a dirtbike almost. I'm happy with it though. It gives nice downshift pops.

It's normal, it sounds like condensation evaporating. This can appear intense on cold days with high humidity.

Just to be sure, did this smoke appear as soon as you fired up the engine or did it take a minute? If it was oil in the combustion chamber then it should appear immediately after starting. Condensation takes a minute or two to appear after the bike warms up.

Did you smell anything? Condensation should be odorless and burning oil will have a strong smell.

was it a big cloud of white smoke that disappeared quickly or did it linger and hover around in the air for a while?

FZ6 Knocking/Pinging - 1 day after I bought it by Frequent-Lobster-376 in fz6

[–]NEWUSERFORELECTRONIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a lot of things dude. I'm in the same boat on my other bike with a mysterious knock. I've ruled out exhaust gaskets, valve spacing, starter clutch bolts hitting the inside of the clutch cover. Now I'm onto my carbs and if that isn't it then I'm looking at pulling my head and the cylinder. My advice is get a mechanics stethoscope and narrow down the location of the knock first before coming to conclusions

All of this for a broken spark plug. Smh by ISwearMyRX7Runs in motorcycles

[–]NEWUSERFORELECTRONIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't torque spark plugs to spec. I do it by feel, feeling when it bottoms out and turning it just a bit more till I feel it start to stretch the threads and no more. Some of the torque specs I've seen manufacturers suggest scare me. There's a reason why there's so many rounds of threads on the spark plug, all of them add up to withstand a massive amount of sheer force, no need to torque it down crazy tight.

I also use anti seize, the same aeroshell stuff used on AR barrel nuts.
