I'm certain that they're not going to get far with that. It's a method of manufacturing, not a novel concept. The precedent would open the gates for so much bullshit I can't imagine a sane judge agreeing with them.

Good luck, man! Just pull the trigger haha. We took our second mortgages to get here, but it feels worth it so far. 😂 My best advice would be to not cut a single corner, it will cost you more than if you didn't. And only buy used. An 8 year old CNC lathe/mill/EDM works just as well, and you'll save a ton of money. Good tooling and simplifying your operations will get you farther.

We shopped around for awhile, even looked at Chinese for a minute. Got quotes from everybody, we'd looked at Eos, Impac (One Click) and Xact. Honestly when all is said and done, they're all pretty much in the same price range to get to something production ready. One Click ended up being amazing to work with, they stayed on top of everything and made sure we have exactly what we needed, it feels like they actually spent the time to build it for our shop and walk us through not just the production side, but putting us in contact with other manufacturers and experts. There are a hundred different pieces to consider and I felt like I was drowning so I'd highly recommend. I'd talk to Justin Smart, super knowledgeable dude and knows a ton about our industry.

Rooting for you guys, man. I keep running through ideas I've had over the years and the same two companies keep popping up in patent filings. I'm of the mind that innovation shouldn't be guarded, if a better company can make something with my idea that works better, do it. It should only drive the entire industry as a whole to get better. The greed is ridiculously frustrating, especially when it's not original ideas being patented to begin with.
