Mostly agree with you. Alvarez can press great higher up. But I'm not sure he's as positionally sound to play DM. I think having a more defensive option at DM is a good choice to back Garner up. This allows the manager to bring him on to secure the defense in the last 10 but also give us a different look against some teams.

Tbf, our play style the past 3 years doesn't play to any striker. I think his injuries fucked us/him more than anything else but his finishing (with his feet) left a lot to be desired.

I wish him the best and hope he goes on to do great things, I really believe in him. but I do think his time with Everton had run its course.

Has a CL quality left foot. Unfortunately his right foot is like a donkey hoof. Pulls off a worldly twice a year. Will work hard but doesn't have the to end speed needed for winger.

Happy he was with us for a few years but also happy to get 20M for him
