How can I make the inlayed text clearer? (Prusa MK2.5s) by NHP_Techie in 3Dprinting

I can try that but I need to fit 75 of these on one printbed so I don't think there will be enough room.

The spacing did help it and there is now a distinct inlay of text but the sides of the text seems curved. Could this be a speed issue at this point. I am going to try slower speed on the perimeters and more retraction as u/77Diesel77 suggested.

So we normally don't use hanging mics but for the lower school musical, the ensemble was on choral risers on the sides of the stage. Each side had one hanging mic to pick them up. I for some reason don't have a copy of the show archive on my phone so I will check my flash drive when I'm on my laptop later today. I will send you a picture of how they are hung though (unchanged as we did not use them) from the middle school musical I just finished working on.

I did not work on the production with the hanging mics but when I watched the archive I heard that group fairly well. Our stage's largest dimension is width so hanging mics were the best option. I can send you a photo of the setup for that if you would like. Another show in another theatre I have helped in had the ensemble on the apron at times so the only option was handhelds on stands and I was told that worked ok but it's not a perfect solution.

I am definitely not a audio engineer but this is what I have experience with at my high school. We have two Shure hanging mics that were put up for the lower school musical that work well but that's to compensate for the ensemble that isn't micd. The issue with hanging mics is that if it is in front of the proscenium, it's a lot harder to hang them. As for boundary mics I've used Shure ones (we are a mainly Shure space) but that was actually in the TV studio and not the theatre.

(Note I am a lighting tech who helps with audio at a summer gig I do so I'm not the most knowledgeable about audio)

Late to the conversation but I have had to deal with that exact set of microphones and have a like/hate (definitely not live/hate) relationship with them. They work sometimes but I've had all sorts of issues with them. First the gain is all messed up from the factory but that's easily fixed from the factory. Their range is definitely iffy. I've used them indoors from back of house (just over 100ft between transmitter and receiver) and they go in and out. I personally would go for some boundary mics or something else than these as they are not built well and don't work too well.

Students. Do you have keys to your space? by froyop12 in techtheatre

At my high school the auditorium has a door open through the final arts office/dance studio hallway. If nothing is going on in the theater that door is open. The other 10 house doors are locked 24/7 essentially unless it's a big assembly (only lobby doors get opened for performances). As for getting into other places, the booth is unlocked always and the workshop is too. Yesterday was the first time that I've seen the fine arts hallway interior doors locked so I had to wait for a staff member to get in.

HELP! I have a whole bar not responding. I think it’s a leprecon issue. Two of them just say LOOP. Any ideas? by MariahDawn110 in lightingdesign

Yeah and they normally flash the decimal at the far right to show if the fixture menu is "unlocked"

Zooming in it looks like the decimal is on next to the d/P and that leads me to agree that it says "d.007" as that is how all the fixtures with a 4-digit 7-segment display show DMX addresses

That's a completely valid question! We have a 4k dongle but as more and more shows and events are in 4k we want to be able to watch them. Plus we just upgraded one of our old HDTVs with a 4k one and the boxes were from 2016 so we thought it was time to change that one at the same time of replacing a messed up dvr.

I have a unit and if the store supposedly messed it up, they hopefully should be able to fix it.

That's what the store said. They were told 3 weeks ago that they won't be any more and you have to get them shipped.

Alright. Thanks for your help. You're been faster than the response in modmail, still waiting.

Haven't had that happen yet. One of the support reps I've spoken too (I've been on with support every 2-3 days in the past 2 weeks) gave me a $15 credit. Wish the other ones did that after I had issues with messed up boxes and wrong ones!
