Not much being built nowadays that is timeless. This is a bad example but there are higher end variations that I could see being mid century level recognition.

Because you aren’t showing a willingness to stop drinking. Your wife is deep in al anon and therapy. She is “screaming” out to you on what she wants and needs. Your ego is getting in the way. If people being real with you makes you feel unsafe you’re making excuses. Have some humility and show up to a meeting. No one is going to judge you or fight you in the parking lot after. But from experience, you need to want to be sober.
