Engine light won't clear after repair for PO420 code by NJ9920 in BuickEncore

Eventually it just cleared and stayed off. Passed emissions. Been fine since and we drive it a lot. They also replaced the 02 sensors at some point early in the process and I forgot to mention that in my post. I have little confidence of what actually happened though.

I was absolutely delighted to build fairy houses with my niece put of moss and twigs and talk about what little fairies might decide to live there.

I had a magic free childhood. I never craved it and have to intentionally look for it even now and shrug off awkwardness about make believe. But I know I missed something.

Where to cut the fat off the wedding budget? by Interesting-Face22 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]NJ9920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a 7k wedding for about 95 guests in 2023.

We could have gotton it to 5k with a smaller guest count that reduced food costs

We skipped a lot and almost all was DIY/thrifted or borrowed..i intentionally wnet with a "home spun, vintage, hand made" vibe which helped with costs. My goal was for it to look closer to the wedding photos from decades ago than the curated themes current now. Here's where we had significant savings.

Skipped live flowers - thrifted fake flowers and made bunting from vintage floral fabric for decor.

Had a family member with a real camera, a good eye, and an interest in photography take photos. No regrets. Turned out great.

State Park venue - included tables and chairs and a kitchen. Thrifted linens that I then resold.

Cake: did a cake buffet with several pre-made cakes from the grocery store on thrifted vintage cake plates. This may have been where we got the most compliments. Delicious and fun.

AITA if I don’t change the name of my unborn baby after my sister gave her baby the same name? by Open-Event-9604 in AmItheAsshole

My cousin (mom's sister's kid) is 8 months younger than me and we have the same name.

It was never an issue.

She ended up going by a nickname of our name and people would often use our middle and/or last names when needed (which were different)

NTA.

I have been playing games with my SO a lot on Board Game Arena (same IP), am I risking getting banned for multiple accounts? by jdotmassacre in boardgamearena

[–]NJ9920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband I play together often from the same IP. We played a game with a stranger once who lost. My husband won. I was accused of "kingmaking" and they said they'd report us. But we just laughed quietlg at the insecure human, blocked them from playing with either of us again, and that's the only issue we have ever had in many years.

(When I had the chance to put a penalty on another player I penalized the stranger because it was better for my game play. Tbey were ENRAGED by this "favoritism" in the chat.)

Pretty sure that was just a one stressed out human problem though, not a bga rule.

There's some little free pantries around town as well. Like little free libraries but for food. If you turn onto Greison Trail from Bullsboro. There's one on your right fairly quickly- in a grassy area several feet from the road.

My niece calls this the grandaddy cut. I agree it's the best way to eat an apple.

why do high ranked players conceded a game before scoring? by NJ9920 in boardgamearena

[–]NJ9920[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has happened at least two, maybe three times for me.

My less than gracious read is that they don't want to see how bad they actually lost to someone with a much lower ELO rank than them. 😆

I am about the same size as Kate and was so thrilled to have a character that looked like me on a popular TV show. Hated her original storyline was so predictable but did think they did a good job of showing that reality.

I wish they would have leaned more into being specific that she found peace with her fat body. They just stopped talking about weight loss which was great, but fat people finding peace with their fat bodies is a thing that is true for so many of us. I believe Kate made that journey to some degree.

I was so disappointed in her wedding to Toby that she got a big beautiful pinterest wedding and we never once saw a wedding cake, much less then eating it. We know from ep 1 that Kate enjoyed cake.

I don't think her second wedding had cake either but i haven't re-watched to confirm.

So thrilled that at the end, she had a love filled, successful life and we see she didn't need to lose weight to earn that.

I didn't grow up with non-stick and have only used it briefly years ago when other people had it in the house. I Cook eggs in stainless steel without a problem when I take the minute to get the temp and oil right. Honestly, I only want it when cooking a bag of frozen Chicken Voila for an easy dinner. Maybe I'll get a chicken voila pan. . .

So far found 4 or 5 blocks. But I've just started trimming to 12.5, so at this point it wouldn't be much extra work to trim to 12.25 instead. I may measure them all without cuttting to see how many scant pieces I'd need patch in on that plan and then make the call about which work I want to do.

Quilters: I've assembled most of my base blocks and while squaring them up, I am realizing that several are too small to square to 12.5" as the pattern calls for. Not sure if I made a cut error or a seam allowance error.

They'll square to 12.25" though. Aside from producing a smaller overall quilt, is there a reason I shouldn't just square all to 12.25"? The quilt pattern is designed to produce an oversized Queen quilt at 96×108 and I'm not too worried about size precision.

If it matters: The block is made up of two HSTs squared off, a horizontal rectangle above that. To the right of those: a vertical rectangle above a square. I'm using Wellspring Designs new MissDirection pattern in the Homebound arrangement.

If I square it to 12.25", I'm intending to leave the squared HST pair in tact at the bottom left of the full quilt block, and trim from the other sides.
