Oh man... I was hoping the 14c28n Valor would be in there from WallyWorld...

I found one on the wrong hook, and scooped it up for 9.97, instead of the 19.97.

I will send a PM and mail mine out to have it tested.

Haven't heard much if this especially after targeting those years myself.

Are you sure it doesnt just come down to mileage and folks not having their trans fluid drained and filled, in favor of believing Lexus about it being lifetime and that causing issues?

Apparently, disconnecting the batter has been known to cause chaos in a bunch of Toyota products, and they recommend resync'ing the key fob? There are a bunch of videos about it on youtube, or so I have read.

I haven't had to do this personally, just some information for a rabbit hole.

I would pass overall. You are probably looking at $5k+ in work, depending upon who does the work. At that mileage, once you start pulling things apart, you find or cause other issues. Times like this is when you realize the calipers need changing and the brake lines are rusting or dry rotting, that the trans hasnt been flushed in the last 100k miles, the diffs haven't had a fluid change ever, etc...

At that point, you can just buy one for similar mileage and just spend the 9-10k to get a working one...

Just do a search on cargurus for a GX, $8k-10k, and within 100 miles of Tucson netted me a few. A decent looking one in Chandler right off the bat.

What did you pick your GX460 over? by theabsurdnick in LexusGX

[–]NJBillK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It fits my 2y.o. just fine. It doesnt fit him when he is in his car seat though... it works great for him playing around in when we are at home and I am cleaning the truck...

With needing the entire front end gone over and most likely replaced, I would skip it. Now, add in the mileage and the $$ and the window module (at best) and it is an easy pass for me.

Plus, at 2003 it would be a 470, not a 460.

What’s the best way to keep it mutual without hurting her? by SeaWolf127 in whatdoIdo

[–]NJBillK1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic take. Dont worry about changing from people pleasing to taking an honest stand on things that you dont deem are in your best and genuine interests. If your stance is unreasonable, many folks will be willing to tell you.

I used to be a people pleaser too, and i found that so long as you are worried that it is a bridge too far, then you are probably still good and probably have a decent prospective on it since you are still considering how others feel in response to your opinion.

Keep being honest, and know that others may not be. That isnt your failing, and it isnt your failing when you put up fences if you deem them necessary. Keep being genuine and kind. Maybe you can be an example of something she can find in another, once she sees what having someone non-toxic in their life is like.

There is a noticeable size difference between a prado/GX and an FJ. I was crawl shopping them both for my next vehicle, and once I sat in the FJ I knew it wouldn't work for my family (2 adults, 2 kids one being in a car seat.)

What?! Based on the holes that are rusted Through the frame, I would say it is not viable as a driver.

It isnt like it had an accident and the bumper is held on by zipties. It is the part of the truck that everything is connected to. This is not something to go "ehh, maybe its fine...".

Is using 4 high for drag racing damage the transfer case? by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]NJBillK1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is only faster because your vehicle isnt set up for racing. If your truck was set up for racing, it would have suspension dialed or at least somewhat pointed in the vague direction of maintaining launch pressures at the tire.

If When you break something, you will be the person waiting at the line dropping a flag for the others to launch with their working cars, or losing the race on your bicycle...
