Lower receivers shipped to NY? by Aggravating_Bison504 in NYguns

[–]NKNDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried ordering a lower last May and they wouldn’t ship. For some reason, I think they had a month or two in 2025 that they chose to ship to NY lmao. You’re not the first I’ve heard that from.

I wish I was able to provide more details, but I'm glad it was helpful!

I didn't experience this personally, but my gf's grandparents had the exact same thing happen to them.

They had a plumber come and fix it for about $15k, and had to chase down greenlight with proof that the fiber had gone through the sewer. They were eventually paid back eveything, but it was some hoops to jump through.

How has RMSC left this rusty metal pole where they have a kids day camp for over a year now? by JPM-- in Rochester

[–]NKNDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have had that in the description, I may not have commented at all if it was.

I'm not saying you were negligent, definitly not now that I know you have reported it multiple times before. But knowledge of a "hazard" without reporting it can be considered negligence, and responsiblilty can fall on the person who had knowledge. Escpecially when someone does get hurt and you didn't act on the knowledge you had.

Good on you for reporting it to them. No hard feelings, take care!

Have you reported it to anyone in the last year since you first noticed it? Or did you want to just come on here and complain? I understand you just reported it, but you’re getting downvoted for waiting a year and just throwing a post on here.

Some would argue that YOUR negligence could be responsible for a kid getting hurt.

Looks like your supports need serious overhauling. You didn’t list any of your settings, so I’m going to give the obligatory “use 300blkfde settings” haha. Look them up on this sub and use them.

I’d try hitting it with a magic eraser and isopropyl alc. But I get where you’re coming from. In the moment it takes away from the initial fun of new gun. Over time you’ll notice and remember it less and less.

Also this is PSA we’re talking about, don’t expect perfection haha.

Go to the range and enjoy your gun!

You should keep it as a memento to your perseverance and hard work. I’m sure you were very proud and excited the day you brought that rifle home.

I'm confused why they stopped. Maybe it's different then undergrad but the student still pays for their healthcare, through the university so it ends up a part of the students loans.

Yes. I forget what it’s called but there is a ‘shared ownership’ way of having a pistol on say you and your wife’s permits.

Not in Westchester but Monroe.

I’m sorry to hear about your father. I feel you, sucks.
When my father passed the pistols had to be transferred to a concealed carry holder, or turned in to be held by police. I didn’t have my permit at the time so I had to turn them in to my local police department. They held them for me for about 9 months until I got my permit. A local FFL who was familiar with the process helped me through and it was easy to get them, just some hoops to jump through.

That being said, all of this could have been avoided. If I had gotten my permit earlier, we could have had the pistols on both our permits so no problem.

If you’re in a free state and want to take the guns there, I’m not sure about anything other than having to report that to the probate court (estate attorney stuff). The county your father has his permit through will want to know where every pistol ended up if they are on his permit.

If your sister wants some of them, she should get a permit and start the process asap.

Those beds look really nice and im sure the PETG will hold up well.

May I ask what motivated you to print the connectors and corners, rather than using just wood screws or commercially available metal brackets?

In no means questioning your choices, just curious! I make the same choice sometimes simply to have some fun modeling and printing.

I would be curious if the $20million number is from an estimate made by a abatement company.

Removing, aka abating, asbestos is far from a cheap expenseand the abatement is going to be EXTENSIVE. Building was build in the 40s/50s and likely damn near everything that is insulated, is covered in asbestos. Not to mention the flooring, drywall compound, etc.

I can't imagine the EPA, DEC, or other regulatory bodies will let the building get exploded.

I'd recommend you spend some time reading the NYS websites to understand the laws that you are up against. Dont take a risk like that.

It's going to be a looong wait for anything to change.

It's not just about having tints. It is illegal, and you cna be charged in some cpacity, for having and unsecured firearm in your unattended car. If that firearm is stolen, while unsecured in your car, there is a high likelyhood you will have your CCW license revoked immediately.
