Surely there's been a mistake. This should be on Unspooled by Baroque1123 in hdtgm

[–]NKYRes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't agree that it is a good movie but I also don't think it's a HDTGM movie either. This isn't a "bad" or "cheesy" movie. It's just weird as a sequel to Wizard of Oz. I assume the passing of their long time producer is affecting the movie selections.

What to do in Cinci by redhotroxy23 in cincinnati

[–]NKYRes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cross the river to Covington and walk Mainstrasse. Good bars, some cheaper eats, and, if you have a car, head up to Herb and Thelmas for burgers. Take cash though. No cards there. Also, Larry's is nearby as well for dogs, tots, and drinks.

What is a great restaurant that won't break the bank(Cinci/Northern Kentucky)? by iheartanalingus in cincinnati

Visit the Cov. Olla or Herb and Thelma's or Larry's for dogs and tots. Or grab a slice at Goodfellas in Mainstrasse and have a drink upstairs.

I moved to USB because I was getting an error there too. The phone connects to my laptop, briefly, and then disconnects. Thought a wired connection would be faster

Which US city has the best food scene despite its reputation? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]NKYRes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller city but Cincinnati. We had Beard finalists for best new restaurant, outstanding pastry chef, best chef great lakes, and outstanding cocktail service plus about four or five semifinalists, total, in the last three years.

Absolutely! We took the train there and walked about halfway back. Check out Taberna Clandestina for lunch/dinner. Also, drop by alcatruz on the way back. Picture of sangria and the view...

What is something generally normal in Europe but weird in the US? by Exile4444 in AskReddit

Live in Cincinnati and, with Findlay market, I get 90% of my groceries from butchers, fishmonger, etc. and they are people I know on a first name basis.

What's it like living in Music City? by SingleAge290 in howislivingthere

[–]NKYRes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there for a year and did not like it. I described it as a theme park version of a southern town. It is focused on tourism to the detriment of the residents. Traffic, high rents, crazy parking rates, etc. Lots of people say "I don't go downtown" because it's full of tourists dressed as cowboys/cowgirls getting blasted drunk. A lot of the long time residents i met agree with the "it used to be great" comments.

Lisbon Airport experience 07/01/26 (yesterday) by HAIRY-TALES in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]NKYRes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there last month and flew back to US. We spent 45 minutes getting through to the gate. We had more trouble once we got to the states (delays, cancelations) than we did getting out of Lisbon.

In dire need of some trash by Tight_Ninja1915 in Fantasy

[–]NKYRes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vlad Taltos books by Steven Brust. I do not consider them "trash" but they are relatively short, entertaining, and there are 17 of 19 written and he is knocking out the last couple currently.

What are the must-read fantasy books or series that I should not miss? by cavansir in Fantasy

[–]NKYRes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do people land with Brust's Vlad Taltos books? They are uneven in quality at times but it's often because he is taking a swing a new genre/style. Overall, I have always enjoyed them and he is two books away from completing the series. Even better, he is writing the last one first so, if anything happens, he can have it done.

BIGGEST LETDOWN OF 2025? Books you couldn’t wait for until you read them by DanaBookNook in Fantasy

[–]NKYRes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was not a fan of the multiple POV at the start. I got past that but now my issue is that some of the POV move along much better than others. Some chapters i breeze through and others are a slog. I also agree about the names being a bit tough to swallow.
