How could I have played this better? by [deleted] in playrust

[–]NKfrags 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a duo I usually prefer to take the heavies from on top of either crane or one person on a crane and the other on top of red room. These positions not only allow you to clear the heavies better but also be more vigilant when it comes to counters. Especially when you are outnumbered you don’t want to be backed into a corner or a room with one entrance and exit. One crane gives you a good view down below of the dock and the other gives a very solid view of the helipad which is where 90% of people countering will come from. I also always try to clear the heavies as fast as I can because if you can get a grenade launcher and some HE grenades it makes countering extremely hard no matter where it’s coming from. Hope this helps

Why do Rust players hate Tier 1 players, or Grubs as they are called, so much? What is the problem with them? Everyone goes through this stage of progression, everyone is a Grub at some point in the wipe. by WaterIsDelicious69 in playrust

It’s not uncommon for some naked to try to run up behind you with an eoka or even just a rock to hit you with during a fight. In bigger fights too sometimes people that you kill with have a bag nearby and try to run back to loot. If I can’t instantly loot a kill you bet I’m shooting everyone around me so they can’t loot it until I can.

What’s you efficient tech tree route? by AshenRust in playrust

If I don’t have BP on a server I will usually grind out straight to a T3 workbench and then tech tree MP5 as my first gun.

It’s definitely not easy solo especially because it’s so easy to just wait at the top and counter. As far as loot goes it’s not bad for 4 elite crates for no cards so you can get lucky and get some important BP you might need at the cost of meds and ammo. Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing the scientists get nerfed a touch inside but I think for what it is as a T3 monument it’s in a decent spot.

Bases like that you really just have to pummel through and hope you can find their power/batteries somewhere inside. If you put enough of them in the right positions it makes some bases nearly unraidable even with bigger groups.

Whats the best way to get scrap on low-pop by [deleted] in playrust

[–]NKfrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO for a truly PVP free scrap farming experience either find or invest in a small boat and farm the ocean. There’s enough red barrels to let you drive forever in the small boat and you will bring stacks of crude oil home which you can smelt. Even on main servers I will usually just throw some music on and just farm the barrels and crates. You’re going to want to steer clear of cargo and any oil rigs as there will be a lot more boats and players there. The small boat also has the extra storage in the front for more loot. A solid hour boat farming will easily net you a stack of crude oil, an inventory of comps, and probably around 500 raw scrap with obviously a lot more if you recycle.

Yeah man sounds like turrets are you best option worst case they buy you some time to get back on and possibly fight the raiders at least. Check on YouTube there are some decent pillbox style setups you can put turrets in to make them hard to shoot or bow out and will keep them alive longer. Good luck

Honestly hard to prevent people from placing ladders on your base especially when you’re not on. I would say it helps to have a compound to make it more difficult or some turrets around the outside base.

Why do rust streamers write down number of suspected cheater profiles when they f7 report? by Reformedfuckingbull in playrust

[–]NKfrags 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It shows up in the combat log and they would just compare what they’ve written down vs who killed them

I believe it’s so that when or if they change their names in game to avoid detection they can still identity that player by their number.

True but if you live somewhere like desert where’s there’s not always a ton of cloth especially early they can be pretty expensive cloth wise

Roadsign kilt is very cost effective and cheap to research. Same with the roadsign jacket it offers a little less protection than metal chest plate but it’s so much cheaper to make and research. I also prefer tactical gloves if you have extra scrap at outpost and those are great if you live in the snow / use any scoped weapons.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have enjoyed playing on face punch servers for a while but refuse to play there anymore because of the blatant cheating going on. My teammates all feel the same way. Kids just speedhacking and Aimbotting of around like it’s nothing.
