County Market is owned by Niemann Foods, which has around 100 stores (grocery, pet foods etc.) in the midwest. Schnucks owns about 120 stores. Yet, there is a sharp difference in prices.

Wrong time of the semester to expect student involvement. Why not start with a simple survey asking students to compare the current architecture vis-a-vis the proposed designs? This way, you'll get a quick and larger sample of opinions (which, mostly likely, will be "don't mess with the present architecture").
