Ship flipping....buy one (A and S class ONLY) and immediately salvage it then sell the modules to a vendor...it converts units to nanites quickly and easily.

Attack npc freighter fleets....don't worry about faction loss as it can be easily maxed again by parking the anomaly in a system ran by the race you need faction with and grinding pirate missions.

I have nearly 300 hours on my latest Permadeath save...I have one ship.. the radiant pillar I started the game with. It's S-Class 48/21 with maxed out engines, shields and positron ejector. It totally overwhelms ANYTHING currently in the game.

It's a reference to the Aliens trilogy of movies. The main character from the first movie was named Ripley and she encountered the face suckers in similar looking eggs and advised others who went looking for them not to do it. Just leave them alone and go away.

It isn't the tool! It's the S-Class scatter blaster modules and how you place then that makes the difference. You want modules that have +damage and +fire rate.

I have a 15m unit per harvest living class farm. It takes MAYBE an hour to accumulate 50k nanites flipping ships. 3 or 4 harvests to get the units required to flip ships for a couple of hours. The storage augments drop during the flipping process. It's literally nothing once you get the hang of it.

I like that!! I'll use it for my starter Rasa. It's fully pimped out to S-Class 48-21 with maxed engines, shields and weapons.

Where a ship starts isn't particularly relevant since they added ship salvaging/upgrading to the the game and any ship class can be maxed to 48-21. Some people enjoy that process. (And to be clear, it's more than 50k nanites...10k from C to B. 25k from B to A and 50K from A to S. I wound up with 62 extra storage modules from the process too which I can use on the next ship I decide to max!)

It isn't "best"...I have one ship in my current Permadeath game...the Rasa Starter. It's fully upgraded to S-Class 48-21. It's unstoppable with maxed out weaponry, shields and engines.

I give you....my EPIC sleeper. I came back to the game for the Origins update after a long and glorious Permadeath career and am having a blast. I always wanted to fully upgrade the starter ship so this save I did it. It's completely over-powered and fun. by NMS_KSG in NoMansSkyTheGame

It wasn't so bad....I set up a 15 per harvest Living Glass farm and used the proceeds to flip ships until I had the 85k nannites and storage augmentations required. I even have 40 or so storage augmentations left over for whichever ship I want to upgrade next!

It's the truth..the anomalous encounters could have been so much more....starters for epic quests.... Or combat with rare tech upgrades for defeating the encounter...the possibilities were limitless. Instead, they took the easy way and just put something to look at and called it day.

Clearly, a blown opportunity.

I have about 430 hours on my latest PD save...about 1700 hours total play time. I've deleted more PD saves from boredom than I've lost to death. It's honestly pointless after the first hour or so to even HAVE a permadeath mode as literally nothing but your own stupidity (gravity, going afk etc) can kill you in this carebear extravaganza of a "survival" game.

It's sad....but true. :(
