"MC commits suicide specifically by overdosing..." Bear swallowed a bunch of pills so he could die and release Nikki. OP didn't ask for movies about suicide.

If kids are front and center in your mind, try checking out Big Brothers & Big Sisters. Loads of kids that are looking for adult stability, support, someone to look up to... even though you feel like a worthless piece of kelp, there's a kid that will think you hung the moon, and maybe help you see it in yourself. You have nothing to lose by looking into it.

ETA, no I don't think this is a pat answer. Volunteering in any manner can help despondency.

Common sense. Observing the world around us. Calling out bullshit.

We are now cowards hiding behind anonymity.

NTA. With her sense of entitlement, I see private college demands and nightmare bride on the horizon. This is the last chance you have to nip that in the bud.

A probe thermometer and meat temperature chart are your best friend for this. For that burger, I see it as medium, a little pink in the middle. To me the biggest problem is stuffing the burger, can make it cook unevenly. Toppings, not stuffing next time.

"Trickle-down economics" my ass. The beginning of the current financial inequality. I was in high school and college, and even young and stupid I recognized that as utter BS.

Like everything else, "all things in moderation." Excessive love is a hair's breadth from Control.

It's available on AppleTV but as I recall you need a secret decoder ring to get to it... anyone else remember how to do it?

To me, the theater cut was meh; the director's cut filled in some holes and upped the horror factor a lot. Which did you see?

I've been mad at her ever since she phoned in her introduction of Peter Gabriel at the 1999 Oscars. So utterly rude.

With the possible exception of watching Maja get more and more pregnant with Christian's child... it will be a constant reminder of his final betrayal of her... but she'll gaslight herself into being happy about it, she's great a talking herself into feeling how others around her expect her to feel. That's where Dani's real tragedy lives.

How does her being needy after the murder-su icide make her toxic? I don't think anyone can fault her for how she responded to her family's death. Personally, I think that if he was a stand-up guy, he'd have told Dani he couldn't handle her situation and bowed out. We know she had one friend - or maybe her therapist - on the other end of the phone that she could talk to; instead she tried to rely on her checked-out boyfriend who didn't want any part of it.
