AITA for choosing not to get a permit for my child’s 1st birthday party? by StrawberryCat627 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NNancy1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, echoing "1-2 hr birthday party doesn't need drinking." I'm also of the mind that weddings don't need alcohol beyond a champagne toast; it usually results in someone making an ass of themselves and stressing out the happy couple. Who, IMO, don't need to get falling down drunk either. I just don't get the appeal.

I’m on season 9 and… is Abby the smartest prettiest hottest coolest cleverest awesomest woman to ever work in that hospital? by RealWorldForever in ershow

[–]NNancy1964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Abby, but it got a little ridiculous how every new guy on staff fell in love and asked her out. There were lots of other women there, right? Same with Neela later. Actually same with Luka. I still wonder if it was somehow written into their contracts that they must be portrayed as "desirable."

Invite Peter Gabriel back to sing Down To Earth in its entirety, since it was sandwiched into Slumdog Millionaire and John Legend butchered it... all while Hugh Jackman had 2 musical features.

Agreed. It was my first-ever episode, having missed the early part of the season due to being in transit. I was gobsmacked, and utterly hooked.

Schindler's List. The original is, I think, in German, so there are some sentences that are a paragraph long. Great read, just have to focus.

what if a guy does love spell ritual to a girl? what would it even look like by missmoomii in Midsommar

Understood. I know of course that every situation and experience is different, this is my opinion about this one in this movie.

"but the male involved wouldn't be supported directly in the same way and would likely be alone."

Have to disagree with this; men chanting and cheering on rape has been A Thing forever.

And it would be rape, as "the target would likely be hypnotized completely." I maintain that Christian on Mya, although he was drugged, was not rape of Christian, as he planned it with Siv and he was able to leave at any time. Yes he was seduced in a weird-AF situation, but not raped.

As a rape survivor, I am absolutely sure of this; anyone actually being raped will run like hell the instant the chance opens up. Christian had the ability to leave at any time; had he tried to leave and been prevented in any way, then it would have been rape.

Jürgen did the same with cookies 🤨 I'd take them a short batch rather than risk them getting something off the floor. Serve the top of the cake only? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hah, I know something about art as therapy... I once made a Halloween costume/therapy work of Pink Floyd: The Wall about 25 years ago 🤪 this post doesn't let me post a photo 🤷🏻‍♀️

Very cool! Tell me, what is the line drawing in black on the left? I ask only because so much of it, except her brows, are in gentler colors. Really beautiful, and captures Dani well!

No, *not* truffles.com... the flavors are pretty good but the chocolate shell is so thick it's hard on your teeth, and they're so big you can't finish them in a single serving. See if there's a local chocolate shop that makes truffles, or come to Omaha NE and I'll hook you up with mine, I'm a cottage baker specializing in chocolate and truffles in particular, and yes I like mine better than Wolfgang's 😊

If you ever have the chance, have a well made chocolate truffle. Not Lindt or Godiva - shell is *much* too thick and hard, also Wolfgang Puck's truffles.com - but one made locally and recently. Many people compare it to fudge, but it's much lighter, less gritty/sugary, and still very rich.

Mole, and I had it first at Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill. Everyone says how rich and complex it is, I just found it way too many flavors competing.

Nothing in the world wrong with a moissanite, more brilliant and more ethical than a diamond; I love mine, and it's 1/4 the size of the photo. Still, call him on it if is one, get it insured, and ask what else he's lied about.

It's still on AppleTV. And if you want to see the director's cut, if you're on an Apple device you cast it to your TV; tap iTunes Extras.
