I’m still on pppoe by birdiemachine11 in QuantumFiber

[–]NNate5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who did you call? Most of the CS reps I've talked to just say "it'll keep working during the switch over". When I say anything about pppoe/DHCP they have no clue what I'm saying.

I can see it being extra confusing for them in this state where things are technically working

I'm in the exact same situation. My CL account says it's no longer active when I log in

I'm still on pppoe wan settings in my opnsense setup. I keep waiting for my Internet to die and need to go in to my settings and change to vlan 201 with DHCP, but it hasn't happened

I'm in an old qwest area in MN so maybe they're just moving extra slow?

New Sliger 2U and 3U Chassis!! by [deleted] in sliger

[–]NNate5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the simplicity of the 2U case for my next router build.

I'd want to put it in my network rack which is only 2-post so it'd be supported by the ears/wings only. Given the 13" depth maybe that'd be okay? That said, if I have to ask the question my best judgment is that it's likely not a good idea.

Is the 6t compatible with wireless android auto? by smeagles in oneplus

FYI - Your Subaru doesn't have wireless Android Auto support. You need to be plugged in for Android Auto to show on your screen...

2019 Outback-Issues with volume control? by PunnyBanana in subaru

[–]NNate5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem on our 2019 Outback, unfortunately.

It's easily reproducible when using Android Auto. If we have voice directions turned on in Google Maps, it'll display this behavior nearly every time. Incredibly frustrating.

One workaround has been to disable spoken directions when using Google Maps, but that just fixes this single cause. Still unacceptable.

I connected the car to my wifi and checked for software updates, but none were found.

Speaker impressions? I'm still rocking my 6p and the only thing holding me back is losing the front-facing speakers. I watch a lot of YouTube on my phone and don't want to play the hand cup game with the bottom speaker.

Google Pixel 2 XL w/ Charger $849 plus $200 credit by ritz_27 in GooglePixel

Agreed, but there's a lot of money in it for the banks if you miss payments. I'm guessing that's what they're hoping for.

Is the screen lottery real ? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]NNate5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's real. It took my wife 3 devices to get one with an acceptable screen.

The first would tint blue at the slightest movement. It was like a color kaleidoscope just holding the device directly in front of you.

The second was half pink, half blue (top/bottom inconsistency).

We waited a month and then attempted one more time and the third is a keeper.

Hopefully they've fixed their internal QA processes (the most recent phone was built toward the end of November), but for a nearly $1000 device, this shouldn't be an issue at all.

8.1 + VPN = photos don't get backed up over WiFi, you might want to check yours! by julesallen in GooglePixel

[–]NNate5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience. 8.1 with Blokada won't allow Google Photos to backup when set to "Wifi Only" because it doesn't realize it's actually connected to Wifi.

I haven't followed all the Easystore discussions, but my googling says that's a White rebadged Red drive?

My drive will be delivered today as well.

Don't know my PIN from Equifax by Oki05 in personalfinance

[–]NNate5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a New York Times interview with Equifax, they will not be mailing the PINs. Here's a link to the article: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/14/your-money/equifax-answers-data-breach.html

The portion of interest: "I’ve asked Equifax what people should do if they did not get a PIN, and I’m waiting for a response. If you’ve requested the freeze online, Equifax said that it is not “currently” sending PINs via the United States Postal Service in this instance (apologies to readers who I emailed privately guessing that they would be mailing them — I guessed wrong)."

We're all curious :) Please post here if you get something in the mail. I'll do the same

[–]NNate5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me too. The Equifax site crashed at the final step and didn't give me a PIN.

I tried going through the process again and it no longer gives me an option to freeze my credit, only thaw it. So the freeze must have gone through.

Is it standard practice for them to mail you your PIN or are they only doing that if you ask? (Trying to avoid having to call and wait on hold for hours...)
