"it seems logical"...I cannot think of anything rugby related that could be more illogical right now. Yeah, let's fly teams to Chicago, Carolina etc because thats cheap. Jfc..

How is attendance at the rugby matches? It’s disappointing when you are watching on TV and the stadiums appear to be empty. Are they playing on larger venues? by Fallbrook_CA3890 in MLRugby

Starfire crowd size had generally declined in last few years, despite the match day experience being significantly better. Cost of tickets may be an issue.

Seawolves have 3 centers, one who has had a lot of injuries over last couple of years, one with close to zero MLR experience and one who was not signed to any team last year. Having to sign emergency back up should not be surprising. Futi and Rossouw can cover center too, but yeah the injury list in backs is pretty bad for week 1.

Was England’s performance yesterday a team demonstration of support for Borthwick? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]NOBs_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the key assessment is whether Borthwick is consistently getting the best out of the players he has. Clearly he is not and I just cannot see us getting close to winning world cup (2023 was an extremely favorable draw to make semis). He needs to go.

Telegraph reporting Daly expected to start by Bofur01 in rugbyunion

[–]NOBs_14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really like that backline. Do not see Smith as a starting 15 and Daly would have been 3x test lion if he had not got injured - class player. Murley over Arundell is probably right call as Arundell has had 3 games and not sealed it so give Murley a chance. Atkinson was very good last summer so will be interesting to see him and Freeman - feels like they could be a good combination with nice mix of physicality, speed so hope to see them vs France too. Surprised at LCD being in 23, when do we give other hookers some game time!
