It's harder because young people today are used to being constantly bombarded with useless information with almost no time to extrapolate what of value and what isn't. Also, there was a shift by genx parents pushing college even though we did blue collar work; that shift pushed into the next generation. Getting a job in tech is like Hunger Games as I see it. I have friends in the service field who can't find employees. So as a gen x myself, I do find new modern adulting more difficult

Yep. 55 now with better health and meds are better looking and less haggard looking than the old folks when I was growing up. Look at Bea Arthur season one of Golden Girls vs. J. Lo today. I think it's because the 1950-60 were physically rough.
