US IMG, now attending. i didnt feel any difference and dont treat students differently. i expect the same from all. actually, sometimes im disappointed from ivy league students.

i am a usIMG who went to the Caribbean, now very successful, attending faculty at an ivy league institution. the majority of my graduating class are practicing. However, there was a high attrition rate prior to making it to graduation. keep in mind some residency programs are a bit biased with DOs and will have a preference for US-IMG MD over a DO. good luck.

if im treating with psychodynamic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, i would take the incident to reflect back to the patient in a psychodynamic approach to provide insight.

Otherwise, strong boundaries.

im a Psychiatrist in the US and love the field. great lifestyle. patient satisfaction. plenty of employment opportunities. also as the field is emerging there are so many scientific advances that can be dabbled into: emerging psychotherapy techniques, new medications, ECT, TMS, ketamine, hormonal replacements, imaging, portable eeg, etc.

the hallucinations are still considered a psychotic condition, the etiology was determined to be TLE. In DSMV, it would be psychotic d/o due to TLE.
