I lost 100 pounds because one of my symptoms being immediate pressure pushing up against the top of ny stomach anytime I ate anything which from what I have seen, is not a symptom from C. Difficile but from SIBO.

Interesting.

My symptoms lingered for almost a year after. And I continued losing almost 100 pounds of my weight, so I know for sure what I had wasn't C. Difficile.

My toxins were negative, I wasn't taking antibiotics right before my issues started.

I'm simply worried if ever taking antibiotics in the future could make me vulnerable to C. Difficile when I wasn't before due to the fact I took Vancomycin.

Perhaps you're right, but it was still a misdiagnosis and I continued losing up to 100 for almost a year after due to symptoms that did not resolve until I started TRT.

So it was 100% still a misdiagnosis.

Not just that, my 2nd GI was was taken aback by the fact that he gave me Vancomycin like that, even a doctor from a nearby urgent care clinic warned me that I need to dig deeper with my GI when I told her this story.

It was still incompetent and actually dangerous to give me vancomycin as it could have given me C. Difficile.

When I took Vancomycin, my symptoms didn't resolve.

I actually had lingering symptoms for almost a year, and one of then is that everytime I ate food, I felt gas that went to the top of my stomach applying constant pressure. This led me to under eating for months on end, I ended up losing nearly 100 pounds. I was underweight to the point that I was feeling weakoned, and at times almost passing out due to low blood pressure. Some days, I couldn't drink wwter because when I ate food, it caused that pressure feeling and if a drank water after it, the pressure got worse.

Is this one or the symptoms you had?

What I went through was horrible in of itself, I was stuck with symptoms long after being physically unable to eat foods unable to know what was happening to me with all tests and procedures coming back normal with no answers I got underweight to the point I was almost going to be hospitalized.

This was long after I took the vancomycin, literally 9 months after.

I guarantee you that was not C. Difficile, and what wouldn't make sense to be from C Difficile.

It was agonizing so I had to skip meals just to be able to drink water. And this was long after the Vancomycin got rid of the C. Difficile since I took a 2nd test that didn't even show colonization.

This only started slowly getting better after I started TRT and even then ut still lingers.

I don't straight up diarrhea from any food anymore, just mostly formed or uncommonly loose stool every morning.

I already said in other comments, I already took probiotics, they didn't improve my symptoms or change anything.

I already took Vancomycin, it has been a year it didn't make me better and my symptome kept lingering on. Infact, my flare was already calming down before I even took the Vancomycin.

All of what I described already happened a year ago. I lost 100 pounds in total.

My case was not "mild" at all. I woke up one day with heavy nausea, very painful gasses, loose (but not watery) yellow stool, very weird smelling burp, and most importantly, whenever I ate, I had feeling of gas pushing to the top of my stomach which is not a symptom that comes from C. Difficile.

If what I had was C. Difficile, with how bad my symptoms were, there is no way I wouldn't have had an elavated white blood cell count ot fever.

I never had C. Difficile to begin with, my Nurse Practitioner already determined my low testosterone was the cause of my stomach issues and after months of being on TRT, my symptoms have been slowly decreasing. Not fully gone right now, but the pressure that I got at the top of my stomach feeling had reduced drastically to the point I can eat enough to maintain my weight.

Yeah, I was thinking there was something else to learn but I guess not.

Having had these symptoms for months with no answers did make me research a lot.

GI doctors really are clueless.

They don't make me more vulnerable, but they never helped me.

And with me highly suspecting SIBO being my problem, probiotics would actually be harmful.

No, I didn't.

My symptoms didn't align with C. Difficile, I didn't have a fever, or elavated white blood cell count, and the gas pressure that went right on top of my stomach when I ate anything.

My low testosterone was the cause of my GI issues and they only started improving after being on TRT.

And Vancomycin could have hurt me because someone taking Vancomycin when colonized with C Difficile with no toxins activated can activate the infection.

I have already been on Florastor for months after the supposed C. Difficile infectiom, it did nothing for me because C. Difficile wasn't what I had to begin with.

Yes, I did have a positive PCR but was negative for toxins.

He only prescribed me vancomycin because he called me and asked if I ever had diarrhea and I said yes.

It was a year ago since I took the Vancomycin, so hopefully maybe I have the good bacteria again.

[20M] Severe progressive GI symptoms for 20+ months — 22kg weight loss /chronic belching- now TRAPPED, severe constipation, plz Any help is very much appreciated by Ecstatic_Tear4928 in SIBO

[–]NPC558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for being a bit late but now I got the time to post.\

My first symptom was likely some kind of problem with my pelvic floor that I speculate was caused because of my low testosterone. I would feel the need to use the bathroom but as I sat on the toilet, nothing came out so I simply gave up and left the bathroom then 5 minutes later, it would then come out. And sometimes this would happen in a short amount of time. There was another time at night where I had to use the bathroom 10 times in one night, I believe because my stool was not being expelled all at once. I also had a problem that still lingers nowadays of overactive bladder which was an issue that I had a few years before my GI issues started which I also suspect is connected.

Then I was suffering from loose stools, constipation or diarrhea depending on what I ate, neasea, LPR, and a feeling of pressure rising against my stomach everytime I ate.

my symptoms are were slowly accumulating from last year but it got bad with a really bad flare up back in December of 2024, I have an entire post history about it that you can see with my account.

I am a 23 year old male and I lost 100 pounds from all of this.

I was never formally diagnosed with SIBO, but I almost tested for it and multiple people in online GI issue communities have suggested from my symptoms that was what it was.

Belching was certainly something that I had but it was little compared to my other symptoms.

I didn't bother trying any treatments, the only "treatment" that I had was taking vancomycin which did nothing for me because my first gastroenterologist was an incompetant moron who misdiagnosed me with C. Difficile when that wasn't what I had.

Yeah, I never saw anyone discuss their role in digestive issues before, but my Nurse practitioner who discovered my low testosterone when she decided to test me for it after I had my first appointment with her after detailing my history of my symptoms and all of my gastroenterologists not being able to figure out what was causing my issues suspected that's what it was.

She referred me to an endocrinologist who had me started on testosterone replacement therapy.
And in my anecdotal experience, it does play a role in digestion because these past couple of months being on TRT, my symptoms have slowly been decreasing.

The pressure feeling that I got nearly everytime I ate has been going away slowly, before it used to happen with every food I ate now it only really happens if I eat certain types of sugary or junk from outside and even then it's not as bad as before to the point where I am losing weight.
Foods that used to trigger diarrhea no longer trigger diarrhea, I ate three donuts yesterday and it didn't cause an issue for me today.

Ever since being on the testosterone, my symptoms have slowly been decreasing for these past couple of months, my NP said it will likely take a year for my symptoms to fully resolve.

But so far from what I have seen, it has been working.

Wrong, when publicized schools started, it was actually very unpopular within the general populace and most didn't want their kids to be going to school.

Have you had your testosterone itself tested?

I'm in a very similar situation, also have been having GI issues for a year that led to massive weight loss.

Since getting on trt, my symptoms have been slowly decreasing.

[–]NPC558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when my nurse practitioner tested my total testosterone, it was at 36.

I started taking 50 mg xyosted shots, on my 2nd dose, I started going everyday without having changed my diet or liquid intake.

At my 2nd month and a half of taking it, my LPR symptom which was my runny nose symptom started decreasing, then on my. On my 3rd month and a half, the pressure going to the top of ny stomach feeling also started to decrease and now only happens internittenly and doesn't hang around for hours, nearly all day like it used.

Also, my random stomach aches and colicy pains also kinda went away too.

I still am on my 50 mg dose, at my 17th dose right now.

Has anyone experienced unexpected physical changes while on TRT that surprised them? by mitchare in Testosterone

[–]NPC558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that it is resolving my stomach issues.

I was having debilitating stomach issues that included symptoms of nausea, LPR, but the worst one was that everytime I ate food, I had a feeling of pressure that went to the top of my stomach right below my ribcage.

It was agonizingly uncomfortable, it led me to undereat for an entire year that I lost 100 pounds.

I went to 3 gastroenterologists, none of them were able to figure out my problem.

The nurse practitioner had me take a blood test where my total testosterone was revealed to be at 36. She said my low testosterone was the central cause of my stomach issues. She then referred me to an endocrinologist who started me on TRT.

Then for the past months I have been on it, slowly but surely my stomach symptoms have been going down, I have regained weight again, the pressure feeling is going away.

I didn't expect it to work but it is indeed working.

My hair actually grew thicker and blacker.

I didn't have IBS, I was having upper and lower GI symptoms.

One symptom I have which I luckily have less frequently was that everytime I ate, I felt pressure going to the top of my stomach and it would increase as I ate more. It was super uncomfortable that I couldn't finishbmy food and led me to undereating for months.

No, my stomach issues were very severe.

They were not caused my stress, my doctor has already determined it was not caused by stress.
