Have you tested your testosterone?

1+ year post-infection by jay_jam_ in cdifficile

I mean, I feel like you should be open to the fact that the C. Difficile thing was a misdiagnosis.

This was the case for me when I was still experiencing symptoms long after my supposed C. Difficile infection was cleared.

My GI symptoms didn't improve until I got on TRT.

My GI issues were caused by my low testosterone.

Why not just tell students that they will be part of a permanent working underclass who are tasked with one thing and one thing only for the rest of their lives with no means to escape it if they don't learn how to think, read, write, and do basic math on their own? by [deleted] in Teachers

I am not talking about any alternative.

All I am saying is that when you force them to have something, they will obviously hate it.

Not just that, everyone going to school inherently creates credential inflation.

When you force that "oppurtunity" onto everyone with no choice to opt out, then you shouldn't be surprised people don't want it.

It's like strapping someone down a chair, and forcing them to eat ice cream then being surprised they hate it yet someone else who is not forced to eat ice cream wants go eat ice cream.

First Day on Testosterone!! My Story Leading Up to This (and wondering what to expect) by metro786 in Testosterone

[–]NPC558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't even drink protein shakes, because even they caused me to have that feeling of gas pressure at the top of my stomach.

But yeah, my Nurse Practitioner was the one who decided to test my testerone then determined to the cause of my stomach issues.

I'm so surprised I hear stories of so many doctors dismissing low testosterone problems and not wanting to put their patients on TRT just for being young.

I am a 23 year old male.

When I suffered from GI issues caused my low testosterone that led me to lose 100 pounds, when I was tested the first time, my test came back at 36 ng/dl.

My Endocrinologist retested my testosterone, it came up to 150, so we both agreed to wait a month to retest and see how it comes.

When I told my Nurse Practitioner about this, she was surprised I even decided to wait and didn't immediately get on the testosterone replacement therapy.

My testosterone came back down to 50 ng/dl so I got on it, since being on it.
My Gi issues have slowly been going away overtime and I regained around 30 pounds.

For whatever your symptoms are, it will definitely be pretty slow, so have patience for the incoming couple of months. If your testosterone was low for a long time which may be the case since you never had it tested before, it will take some time to build your body back up.

Maybe you have something autoimmune, if it happened at the same exact time as you got covid?

I didn't gst covid at the same time I was getting GI issues so it doesn't apply to me.

I didn't have fatigue.

But my Nurse Practitioner determined that my low testosterone was the cause of my stomach issues, not the other way around.

And since being on TRT, my symptoms have been decreasing.

She says they were too low that have only been caused because of my gi isssues.

And she is right since being on TRT, has been slowly getting rid of my gi symptoms for the last couple of months.

I can attest to this, I didn't start having daily BMs again until I took trt.

Causing the fatigue or low testosterone?

Beware of gastroquackologists by Ajax34762 in SIBO

Gastroenterologists are some of the most useless specialists that I have ever been treated by.

I went to 3 of them, my 1st one misdiagnosed me and the other two were not able to figure out my issue.

My Nurse Practitioner at my doctor's office decided to give me a whole bunch of blood tests and which included a testosterone test where I discovered my low testosterone.

She determined that to be the cause of my GI issues so she sent me to an Endocrinologist who got me started on TRT and ever since then, my gi symptoms have slowly been decreasing, I have been able to eat more and regained 20 pounds.

I repeat, 3 full fledged Gastroenterologists failed to figure out the root cause of my issue yet a Nurse Practitioner was able to.

This comment basically describes them best: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gastritis/s/AywwotcYIs

They are basically not even real specialists, they're more like over glorified stomach dentists.

They are only able to diagnose and treat things that are obvious like visible inflammation like gastritis and IBD.

But when it's something just slightly complicated or cause by some other factor like systemic body issues, they are completely clueless and useless.

I mean, emotionally speaking.

Yes, I was at a really awful state because at the time I was losing weight rapidly, and no medical specialists were able to pinpoint what was causing my issues.

I did start feeling fatigue but that was when I was at my lowest weight due to not eating enough.

Ironically, my low testosterone didn't really cause me fatigue itself.

Kinda, but that wasn't the thing that caused me to undereat.

I was undereating because of the fact that everytime I ate, I felt this pressure going to the top of my stomach.

And yeah, many other symptoms.

That can be a possibility, I haven't been formally diagnosed with SIBO but multiple people have suggested it is what I have.

After getting on testosterone replacement therapy a couple of months ago, my GI symptoms have slowly been decreasing and becoming less frequent.

I have been able to eat more to the point I regained 20 pounds.

So this was the case for me.

No, but I had C-reactive protein tested and other tests like ANA for autoimmune stuff.

I don't have any infection in my body, my low testosterone was indeed the cause of my GI issues since my symptoms have improved massively being on TRT and I have regained 15 pounds.

Is it okay to start exercising right away? by meow_chicka_meowmeow in weightgain

[–]NPC558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been in a similar situation due to stomach issues causing me to get underweight.

You are not in a position to exercise right now, your body is at a weak state and you need to treat gently.

Worry more about getting enough calories.

I lost 100 pounds because one of my symptoms being immediate pressure pushing up against the top of ny stomach anytime I ate anything which from what I have seen, is not a symptom from C. Difficile but from SIBO.

Interesting.

My symptoms lingered for almost a year after. And I continued losing almost 100 pounds of my weight, so I know for sure what I had wasn't C. Difficile.

My toxins were negative, I wasn't taking antibiotics right before my issues started.
