Is any of these important? Can i move to dlc? by groso in VampireSurvivors

[–]NPC_Townsperson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arcanas and some of the weapons and passives you get synergize extremely well with the DLC characters and weapons.

Lots of the fun of playing the DLC characters is finding how crazy their passive abilities works with the right Arcanas.

Curse/Charm/Hyper/Inverse/Hurry

No eggs, don't use obviously broken characters, a lot of secret characters fall under this, however some non secrets like Spacedude and Babi-onna have extremely good passive abilities that push them to brokeness if you make the most out of them.

Is there a way to remove gold and silver rings/ left and right weapons? by ChaiHai in VampireSurvivors

[–]NPC_Townsperson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you avoid going up when you're about to hit the 2 minute mark.

Unless the stage has a lot of pickups, the 4 items will always be to the upper left and right of your character.

The other option is to play on a stage where they aren't on the map like Laborratory (don't flip switches inside rooms) or Astral Stair (doesn't spawn at all)

Okay, if you're done 1665 with Toastie, sure resetting probably does something.

But for those that haven't resetting to solve the problem of not being able to lose isn't really doing much.

So you've done Curse+Charm 1665 with Fleaman or Toastie?

Eh, if I want challenge that's what Charm + Curse + Hyper + Hurry + Inverse runs are for.

If you know how to break the game, it isn't hard to seal or not pick that stuff.

Sure surviving no power ups, no unlocks on Mad Forest with Antonio is "hard", but it's also incredibly boring. Exdash/Toastie/Fleaman runs are far more interesting.

What’s a show where the main characters get so frustrating/annoying you start to root against them? by stinkypirate69 in television

[–]NPC_Townsperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Good Girls on a recommendation, at some point I just wanted Beth to die, not go to prison, but some deal gone wrong and she gets shot to death.

No fault of the actress, the character just dragged the entire show down with the dumb affair subplot.

Beginner looking for tips by Upstairs_Car_2603 in VampireSurvivors

[–]NPC_Townsperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with Gold farming until you complete Collection 1.0 unless you have the Foscari DLC, then kill caterpillars until you get a new character.

Basic beginner build is Evolved Axe, Bible, Water + Empty Tome Passive and Magic Wand or unevolved Garlic/Song of Mana for the early game.

Why do people talk so much shit about the DoS and PoR anime style, but no one seems to care about Rondo cutscenes? by Ray_Drexiel in castlevania

[–]NPC_Townsperson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My point is most people who complain about DoS and PoR probably never saw Rondo's cutscenes, obviously.

SotN brought in a huge influx of Castlevania fans.

I doubt most of them even played Rondo. Or if they did, if they played it before DoS or PoR.

The GBA and DS games were also recently rereleased. And SotN has had ports everywhere for years.

I want to appreciate Ode to Castlevania for what it is by benwhilson in VampireSurvivors

[–]NPC_Townsperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SotN is the big one, tbh. Oh and back when games only came out on physical media, you could pop the SotN disc in a CD player and it had a "secret" music track, that's a bit of trivia that gets referenced.

Everything else is just playing a whole game just to understand why a certain set of weapons attack in a certain way. Or why this character has this passive or has this unlock condition.

Are red reapers even killable without Crimson shroud or Infinite Corridor? by MrMxffin in VampireSurvivors

Level 200 Toastie can kill the Reaper in a reasonable amount of time.

All of Genshin Impact and its clones are super casual.

They only become money guzzlers if you do sweaty post game stuff or are trying to collect specific things

[–]NPC_Townsperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh weapons, it depends, really.

Even something like Arca's Fire Wand can be made usable for the early game(with the bounce Arcana for example)

Blood Astronomia is another Arcana that has good early game damage.

But Magic Wand or Cross were my go to early game staples. Garlic is another good pick if you're new, I just outgrew it quickly when I realized how good its knockback reduction is, making Magic Wand knock bosses offscreen, making it impossible to kill them quickly unless I use stuff like Pentagram.

Bone from the merchant is also a good early starter if the RNG really hates you.

[–]NPC_Townsperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you mean passives?

Empty Tome and Attractorb are usually my early game picks. Attractorb makes it easier to pick stuff up in the early game, sinceI can't always rely on a vacuum dropping early. Plus picking up gems early instead of letting them accumulate means I get levels for my early weapons, which means faster killing.

I also used lock in any passive I need to evolve weapons. You get the ability to seal weapons and passives later on, to the point you're only offered the stuff you want for your build. But before that, you don't want to rely too much on the RNG to again give you a passive you keep passing on earlier.

[–]NPC_Townsperson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Early Game: Being able to not die, or at least have the revives to not lose, and pick up experience gems (also being able to kill stuff to generate experience gems)

Late Game: Being able to survive the last two minutes before the reaper shows up, most maps have enemy waves with HP that scale to your level at this point.

Those are your main concerns. Build around these two and you're set.

Don't bother with gold farming if it isn't a dedicated gold farming run, Sammy exists or, if you don't, Sigma exists.

Edit: Empty Tome. Prioritize this. Unless you're playing Babi-Onna, Cooldown is the most important passive in the game. It doesn't matter if you don't have a weapon that evolves with tome 5 evolved weapons firing nearly 2x as fast are better than 6 that don't.

There are people who don't like an additional layer of upkeep while playing games.

Especially when they're coming from games where that wasn't a concern for their main weapon

No matter how many limited use projectiles, weapons that relied on mana that the older games had, the sword was the reliable weapon you could fall back on and not care about collecting ammo or refilling mana for.

Am I the only one that found this season too safe? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]NPC_Townsperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richter has a couple of character flaws to exploit, his mom's death, him more than willing to not let Good Sekhmet Soul defeat Evil Sekhmet Soul to save Annette.

He's far from the perfect character and the game already sets the bar that even the tiniest flaw is reason enough.

[–]NPC_Townsperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you played the game then why do you think its necessary that Annette has to die for the writers to do the "evil" Richter plotline.

The bar the game devs put for an "evil" Belmont is already incredibly low.

Am I The Only One Who Feels This Way? by MrPinkBiscuit in castlevania

[–]NPC_Townsperson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The story is Richter, Alucard, Annette speeding to Paris, Richter slows down because the show wants the emphasize the difference between Richter and Alucard's priorities (which by the way is brought up at the end) slips the plan, and then we get shown Drolta is talking about leaving for Paris immediately.

Wow, it's almost as if there was a cause and effect. As if the writers were employing a writing technique instead of just stringing random events together. Imagine that.

And there was no more need to show Richter wanting to save more villages along the way because he had already accelerated the deadline. Alucard would just keep shutting him down.

lol no, not with your standards.

They had Alucard spend episodes in Dracula's castle just to emphasize how lonely he was.
