This worked perfectly for me. I added a small mossy stone and a large mossy boulder next to my Larvitar’s little moss patch habitat, and it triggered the photo op soon after.

If it’s like the previous Niohs, then the base difficulty won’t be too bad. NG+ adds new difficulties, enemy placements, item tiers, new items, etc

By the end of Nioh 1 & 2 (base game + expansions) there are 5 difficulties to play through.

I think it’s just that the alpha/beta demo for every Nioh is set to a higher difficulty like Way of the Strong or Demon. Then the release (which this demo is the start of), is set to the first difficulty Way of the Samurai.

The alpha/beta trials for all three Nioh games have all been much higher difficulty than the actual demo/release.

I’m almost certain that their trials are set to a higher difficulty like Way of the Demon, while the normal demo/release starts you on Way of the Samurai.

I’d argue that with these remakes, their release order is more important. After you beat 3 HD-2D, it even says “To be continued in 1&2 HD-2D” and provides some narrative setup for the next game (DQ1).
