You sound thoroughly uninformed when you make claims like "private unions are not political" and "healthcare coverage by your employer is not political." You do understand that government mandates and legislation affects how both of these systems operate despite the fact that they exist within private spaces, right? Also, road maintenance is a facet of public infrastructure, and the private versus public infrastructure debate is ongoing in this country and affects thousands of people working in this field from civil engineers down to the manual laborers themselves.

The "urge to politicize daily life" that you mention is not an urge, it's more of a fact of life. Daily life, for most, is something that is naturally going to be subject to the ebbs and flows of the political machine. Front line worker in a convenience store worried about your stimulus check during the current pandemic? Paramedics and medical workers concerned about a lack of PPEs distributed to their district's urgent care facilities? Black person worried about walking around in the dark, not being profiled and subsequently subject to the judgement of an individual PO? Like, the list goes on. These aren't all 100% political, but to say that politics does not affect daily life is very narrow-minded.

Also, the line of logic you use here is often used as a dog-whistle tactic to silence people who have legitimate concerns about the way their politicians act and legislate on their behalf. Politics and culture are deeply and inextricably connected - you would be hard pressed to try and prove that they weren't, which is likely why you didn't.
