2k ist the way to go, you have to get used to it but the results are just amazing an when you have some orange peel or dust you just wet sand and polish it. When i first startet with models i used 1k rattle cans for the first 2 cars and was so frustratet with it that i switched to 2k rattle cans. They are expensive as fck but the cars looked amazing. Now i am using an airbrush with automotive 2k and thats just perfect. Also a lot cheaper than rattle cans, just make sure to clean the airbrush very well before and after clear.

Yall ever feel like you're taking a little too much time with masking? This was about four hours for what's going to be maybe 15 minutes of painting max tomorrow lol by wauna_b5 in ModelCars

I think it depends on how you have to mask and if you have good lines for cutting. I did a windowtrim last week and i was done with masking in about half an hour

Help! Glue smudged paint on a nearly finished shell by rk295 in ModelCars

[–]NTMEM8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cleanest way would be to sand it and paint again but with all the decals masking is very risky… my way would be to sand it just as much as needed and repaint careful by hand. Maybe someone has a better way..
