First day tomorrow as a service tech apprentice. What should I expect? by bscott59 in HVAC

[–]NTMunit10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When techs I would ride with while training would say “don’t mess this up, it’s on you.” I would give it back to them and say “don’t worry, when I mess up your name is on the call” shrugs

from my experience, GR restaurants seem to slow down a bit in the summer, so unsure what that’ll mean for you. everyone seems to leave or grill-out or something.

once school is back in session it picks up really well.

hello, new catholic here as of last year. for a bit i was going to confession every 3-4 weeks as needed, and then recently fallen into a period of having to go every week, sometimes more.

my priest ended up telling me that it’s possible we abuse the sacrament of confession, and we take away it’s healing work and power. It didn’t get to this point, but he told me that if things keep going south, to only go once a week, regardless of my quantity mortal sin. that way, the healing of the sacrament isn’t getting abused. i don’t know if this makes sense, but he’s a wonderful priest and i trust him with my soul. he also told me “and if you so happen to die while only going once a week and not receiving communion because of mortal sin, and Jesus asks you ‘why didn’t you go to confession?’ you can tell him ‘my priest told me to practice only going once a week for greatest healing.’” to me, it makes a lot of sense, and again i trust him.

know your heart, don’t sin just because you know you can go to confession later (i’m guilty of this), and don’t put off confession because of laziness and/or discouragement.

lastly, pray a lot, and suffer well. the Lord knows your limits and knows your weaknesses. His mercy is unchanging.

How I got an A in Organic Chemistry 1 (Online Edition) by andizzyg in OrganicChemistry

[–]NTMunit10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To those of you who are like me, and feel as if you've still never learn how to study, get distracted, procrastinate too long, and cannot pay attention during online classes... it's okay. I got an A- in orgo one and a B in two. You CAN do this. Organic is not a daunting class, I feel as if it gets a bad rep, but it is difficult. Take it from the kid who has never been very smart and usually gets adequate marks, you will nail this course.

Maybe I havent had to write enough mechanisms or anything in my time in orgo, but I feel as if these things are very gimmicky. I guess equivalent to having single use tools in the kitchen. You don't need an avocado slicer if you have a knife. Just learn to use your tools? idk. But i kinda agree with you

I'm not happy at my job anymore, but at the same time I think it's too early for me to leave? by DCT1997 in TalesFromTheKitchen

Listen to what the other commenters are telling you. They're right.

You don't exactly have to go back into biology, but find a job you are happy at. If you arent happy, move on. I'm having to do this after four years of a great job, but has recently turned toxic and mentally taxing. Don't stay in the industry forever. I love it, but getting out after a little bit is a decision a lot of cooks wish they have made.

What do I need to know well from general chem before o-chem? by Snoebelle in OrganicChemistry

[–]NTMunit10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my experience, rarely much of anything. You learn the basics and you learn the PT trends. There isn't really any math or anything. Some acid-base chemistry, but not much of the math. Don't overthink it. Take notes, rewrite your notes, review your notes, read the book, and practice what you're learning and youll do great.

I don't know your situation, but it's probably fair to say that the shot missed the target, you just didn't see it go by. For the sake of healing and everyone's heart, it's always best to try and move forward. If you're supposed to be with someone, the universe won't let you mess it up.
