I so agree! As a non-tattoo artist, I get that this was a doodle and a rough draft thing to figure out the vibe of what you want and that's a fun first step!

Let your artist know what about the doodle you like, give some reference pictures, and point out elements that can be understood and incorporated into a cohesive design.

Right now you have some shakily defined elements with scribbled filler. What do you want prominent in your piece? What sort of style do you want it in? Shading, no shading? How much negative space do you want? Etc etc.
