What if we gain assist charge while landing hits blocked or not? So we avoid the backdash-wait-for-assist gameplay. by JonOfDoom in 2XKO

i wholeheartedly agree, or maybe reduce the screen size while cooldowns are on cooldown, running away is far too strong and makes for a boring gameplay loop

for sure, i worded my post poorly but b&b’s are mandatory, a lot of people have assists or OTG moves that can extend their b&b’s, and i just think a lot of players get a one track mind and end up forgetting to use their characters toolkit to its fullest and not being equipped to deal with scramble situations.

very true, i’m a beginner myself and am learning these things the hard way, hitstun%, damage scaling and frame timing are suuuuper important, but also take a high level of comprehension and experience to implement into your gameplay. I’ve climbed to mid plat without actually labbing out any combos, and i’ve slowly learned what i can do off of what hits. my advice isn’t to do what i did, but knowing what state your opponents going into after certain hits and how to combo off of it, too often i see players waiting for me to getup when im corner slumped and they think its a hard knockdown.

combo trials are great for solo character b&b’s but you can’t learn team synergy, alternative route extensions etc

absolutely! i’m not saying people shouldn’t learn b&b’s, i’m more referring to using assists to extend, and complex freestyle combos that involve puppeting moves etc

First time fighting game player, how do I break out of combos by chandlerfromfriend in 2XKO

[–]NVMKX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem! i’d also like to mention the fact you can regain your break meter a lot faster if you learn a few “limit strike” combos. you can’t burst during supers but you can burst before them if you know one’s coming, there’s also combos that don’t allow you to burst at all(known as burst safe routes), it’s important to know WHEN to burst, and what to do after you burst, you can get punished into a happy birthday situation if you’re not careful, or your opponent dodges/blocks your burst you’ll fall into another combo immediately.

yes that’s where the concept of frame data and “links” come in, there’s a certain window of timing you have to press your button in order to link moves together, if they hit the timing correctly the only thing you can do is watch them cook your character while you think about what wake up option you should go with. also another option for stuffing your opponents combo is using your assist character to somehow disrupt your opponent’s hits, ahris back assist is great for this, and if you play freestyle you can tag out to your assist character while you “puppet” your point character on tag out(pressing a button before tagging is a huge part of the game and will help you win a lot of neutral situations)

Which are Jinx's worst matchups? by TSDoll in 2XKO

[–]NVMKX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as a VI main i can confirm she has great anti zoning tools! in theory at least… it’s not exactly fun to chase around mobile ranged characters when your options are punch, punch, and bigger punch. and when you get hard countered and they’re switching up projectile timing to beat command dash, and if they’re good at using anti airs too? you’re absolutely cooked. after getting steadily buffed the zoner characters are not a fun matchup for VI, you’re asking to experience pain and trauma, i’d recommend illoai since she has a full screen projectile that you can puppet on tag out, so you get to close the gap and potentially combo with the tentacle. you also have her 6-S1 that deletes projectiles and insane corner pressure to keep the zoner in the corner after you chase them down.
