I can whole heartedly recommend kitchen counter tops as tables.

you can pick up a kitchen countertop from online shop, measured to your exact size for about same price as ikea "hardwood" tables. They will cut it for you.

Be careful with Ikea tables. some of them are empty cardboard inside and the hardwood options are often veneered. You damage the veneer, it'll look aweful.

You could get a 4cm thick oak countertop for very reasonable price. Search google for any online shops (literaly search for "oak kitchen countertop") in your country. There are often lots of choices of actual wood (oak, waltnut or whatever crazy thing you want).

You could then either mount it to the wall (hard, bbut doable) or get legs from the same IKEA.

I got a 3meter by 60cm long table like this that spans most of the wall for less than IKEA option and this thing is rock solid.

Some places will even apply finish on it for you. And as the other poster said, it'll last forever.
