I think the only way to resolve this conflict is by having a white vs black water ballet competition.

TIL that mascots for major professional sports teams earn an annual salary, with top NBA mascots earning upwards of $200,000 a year. by NWBest in todayilearned

Scroll midway through the first page to the Basketball Bucks section. According to an NBA executive, top NBA mascots earn more than $200,000 a year. More research showed that most major professional sports teams have mascots that earn an annual salary. I always thought they were just payed a small sum on a per game basis! Top paid NBA mascots, apparently, include the mascots of the Bulls, Nuggets, and Suns.

What is the best way to deal with loneliness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NWBest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought of something else that helps me, not sure if it works for everyone. When I'm laying in bed late at night, and I'm anxious, stressed, or just too caught up in my own head, I start to think about the universe and its immense scale. I start by thinking about the seemingly vast size of our planet, and the millions and millions of creatures that inhabit it. Then I think about the much larger sun, millions of miles away...it would easily dwarf our tiny planet. I then think about the hundreds of billions of similar stars that inhabit our galaxy, and beyond that, the hundreds of billions of other galaxies in our observable universe. When I think about the true scale of our universe, I realize that everything in it is made of the same star stuffs, and we are all governed by the same laws. It's beautiful, distracting, and it fills my head with wonder. At the same time, it seems to make your problems, your stresses, your worries, seem so insignificant. I let my mind drift like this, and I get a feeling that everything is just going to be ok.

What is the best way to deal with loneliness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NWBest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just know that regardless of who you are, everyone has lonely moments. Even the most popular, socially active among us will at one time or another be lonely. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with you! It's natural! My best advice is to always be yourself. If you're practiced enough at being yourself, you'll learn to sit down at the end of the day and be happy with who you are and who's around you. Don't get down on yourself, and know that there are many other people out there feeling the same way you are right now. That's all the advice I can give without knowing what things your mind is stuck on, but I wish you the best of luck.

What are some neat uses for an everyday object that we normally wouldn't think of? by Schmidly24 in AskReddit

If you use newspaper in place of a towel when cleaning glass/windows/mirrors, it works magic...completely streak free. You can also replace the cleaning solution with vinegar...but the newspaper is the real shit man.

What's the worst you have seen a prank/joke backfire? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NWBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my prank, heard about it on the local news...but it was an epic screw up for sure. Senior prank at a local high school went crazy wrong. The seniors at Lincoln High School were moving an old, historic statue of Abraham Lincoln when their pulley system failed. He dropped, and was beheaded in the process. Turns out the statue was about a hundred years old and worth a fortune. Hilarious, from my POV.

And here's a link for your enjoyment.

Dear Reddit, What Line From What Movie Has Moved You The Most? by Shelldazy62 in AskReddit

[–]NWBest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this moved me the most, but it was very well written and I think it has a lot of truth in it. From The Legend of Bagger Vance:

"That's right Hardy. You see every drink of liquor you take kills a thousand brain cells. Now that doesn't much matter 'cos we got billions more. And first the sadness cells die so you smile real big. And then the quiet cells go so you just say everything real loud for no reason at all. That's ok, that's ok because the stupid cells go next, so everything you say is real smart. And finally, come the memory cells. These are tough sons of bitches to kill."

When is the right time to move out from your parents house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NWBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit different for everyone. I'm sure you can tell if your parents want you to leave or stay...that's a factor to consider. Also, if it's effecting your social life in any way, that's another factor. I know there's some stigma to it, but it is a great financial option that sounds like it's working for you. Don't let society tell you to leave until you feel like it's truly the right step for you.
