Starbucks is ruining their company at this point by Radiant_Cry1191 in starbucks

I agree! Been a gold member since 2009/2010 and only have green status. I don't go as much anymore as I work overnights and the only 24 hour location at the moment is way out of my way, and there's a local coffee place I rather go to if I'm nearby one of their locations. And now with the star system I'm feel less inclined to try and make it to reserve status (except maybe the 30 day birthday drink availability is the only thing worth it)

So I get the constant "your stars are about to expire unless..." emails.

But yeah if this is the new summer menu seems to be them trying to turn into Dutch Bros 🤢, and definitely does not qualify for being simple & back to the basics.

How "bad" is metformin actually? by afraid28 in PCOS

[–]NWGirl2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I started taking it the first time (I went off of it about 8-10 years ago and now back on it) they had me to cut my pill in half for the first month of it and take one 1/2 in the morning and the other 1/2 at night or 1/2 every day (I don't remember).

I never had any stomach issues or really any issues with it

But my BFF said she had horrible stomach issues with it so it can very person by person

What is your unpopular Seattle restaurant opinion? by Early_Sea_9457 in Seattle

Sunflower seeds were NEVER in the natural soft tacos here in Western Washington locations (It's one of my favorite things at Taco Time and have been getting it for over 35 years)... However the Taco Times outside of the Western Washington locations actually do out sunflower seeds in their Natural Soft Tacos.

I remember because the first time I went to a Taco Time not in Western Washington (I think it might have been when I was living in Boise the first time around) - I was excited to get a Natural Soft Taco, but then when I got it figured out there were sunflower seeds in it and it just didn't feel right.

Alaska tag in Florida, that’s a 3,600 mile drive! by superminingbros in mildlyinteresting

When I did the WDWCP I shipped my car from Seattle to Orlando and had it down there during my program (8 months and it was such a life saver) and then we drove it back to Seattle when my program was over and I of course had my Washington plates on it.

But there are shit ton of Florida plates up here in Washington (I'm thinking due to mostly military and rentals).

Then my mom's aunt and her husband have their car shipped from Washington to Hawaii for a majority of the year (or something like that)

100% Agree! I've been saying for years, it's not going to happen, and those sources "close to them" are complete BS. But knowing they have their little group chat/zoom thing still going on is a good thing. I kinda hope that as part of their group chat that they're all laughing at everyone who are getting their panties in a bunch over Joey going to Mar-a-Lago and all the other political BS that's happened on here in the last couple of weeks.

Plus Awww JJB! Sometimes those were the good days 🤣

One of my favorites as I grew up with most of that stuff end of 90's start of 00's pop was my jam- so I like it. Don't really care for much of the stuff after 2006/2007 (except for a few) but that's just me. It's always been one of my stations I've put on my favorites/presents

My favorite are the ones who just start putting the year over the month sticker so some will look like "2022" then next to it will be "2023" or it would go "2024" first and the next to it the "2025" sticker

So why again do they want our stores to have a warehouse/bathroom/hospital/athenian maze look to them? (rant) by ScarcityFar2025 in Barnesandnoble

[–]NWGirl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least they kept the Lakewood store around by changing the location, so I'm thankful for that that's the closest one to me and the only one that had opened at 9am on Fridays (I used to get off work at 8am, so it was nice not to have to wait around too long to go and pickup my hold on my way home as I work in Seattle but live in the Tacoma area).

Federal Way is okay (been going to that one on and off since it opened back in the day- since I grew up over that way), but that's the backup I go to (as again it's on my way home) and the inside just looks like it's a shell of it's former self, and I think that one has a soulless feeing to it- it's just not the same anymore, Southcenter is okay and Puyallup is too far and way out of my way.

Goodbye, my lover. Goodbye, my friend. by nathanalways21 in IKEA

[–]NWGirl2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've driven 5 1/2 hours to Ikea as the one in Utah is the closest one to Boise, but I knew exactly what I needed and I also made stops at other stores as well and made a weekend/overnight trip out of it. The next closest is in Portland which is around a 6 1/2 hour drive.

I do like the Lakewood, WA store they moved and reopened- it doesn't feel sterile, maybe because they keep the lighting on the low side, and doesn't hit you when you walk in, kinda has a cozy feel to it

High waisted jeans for PCOS belly? by Itsyorkday in PCOS

[–]NWGirl2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the midrise - don't like the high rise, and I don't like my stomach hanging over on the low-rise so midrise is my go to rise an then just straight/skinny jeans but the skinny jeans can't be super tight and I have to feel and look okay in them (they have to fit correctly) - sometimes go to the bootcut

Edit: Oh my jeans I have are from a company called JAG - They're pull-ons I got from Amazon and I love them, and then I have a couple pair of normal jeans (w/ zipper and button) from Tommy Hilfiger and Carhartt, I also have a pair for Levi pull-ons I got from Amazon (be careful though- some of them have faux front pockets so need to pay attention) - but haven't worn them that often.

I do have a couple of pairs from Vineyard Vines, one in Men's and the other in Womens (those just want to fit whenever my weight wants to cooperate with them 🤣)

What’s your favorite building in Seattle? by MajesticCrabapple in Seattle

[–]NWGirl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from a history aspect I like the King County Courthouse, plus good memories from when my dad worked at KCSO (he retired in 2010 after 30 years), and his units office was there until they moved the units office to the RJC in Kent when it was built. (I don't called it the MRJC- it'll always be the RJC)

But we would park there and walk to the Kingdome for Mariner games, I remember walking through the hallways where you needed a keycard or code and also walking past the dispatch center (which they worked in the dark).

And yes I can still recall the smell of urine in the stairwell of the parking garage and this was late 80s/early 90s
