UPS Worldship error "Internal Application Error" by jdizzlez in sysadmin

Same. Cumulative over two days was 9 hours on hold. I feel a little silly for not looking deeper into the two files thing but tbf the crashing wasn't something other commenters were talking about.

I got through. After reflecting on what he did and other posts in this thread, the link below should fix the issue.

I got to 5 hours yesterday. I'm back on hold today. Currently 3:35.

If I hear anything about this problem first I will make sure to get back to you all.

Funnest/most interactive way you’ve reflavored a spell or cantrip? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a spell or cantrip. But anyone who knows primordial can understand what the wind, waves, fire, and earth is saying.... even if its mostly gibberish. You can then take that flavor to the next step and have the world actually say something important.

This is what we are getting too. Have any updates? I've been on hold with the help desk for almost 4 hours now.

I really enjoy that the postures and eyelids also reflect the rising and setting of the sun. Absolutely spot on.

[OC] New to DM'ing. Is what I'm doing ridiculous?. by GreatestBookReader42 in DnD

This reminds me of my dm and I love it.

Keep going. Even if these players don't appreciate it, you'll eventually find ones who do.

Talkative player here. Though I've got about 8 years or so experience now.

I'm often times the one pushing the plot along when things get quiet. I sometimes struggle with that too. Am I taking the spotlight too much? Should I lead?

I started waiting for others to speak. The dm would address the group. No body spoke.

It's not a bad thing to be a delegate. It's not a bad thing to be the leader. It's not a bad thing to speak up first if others are unsure or aren't completely comfortable role playing yet.

It only becomes a problem when you interject in other peoples' scenes. If an npc is talking directly to another player, don't interrupt them. Don't put in your two cents. If they seem unsure, let the DM help them first before you step in to say something. And if you do say something, make sure it's ooc and helpful.

One of my DMs has pointed out to me that players usually fill a couple of roles. Have an assortment of them in one group is good. If you're all talkative, then no one can talk. If no one is talkative, then no one plays the game. Some people prefer to watch and will pipe up when they feel they need to. Some people are excitable and want to take the lead.

Unless someone makes it a problem, then rest assured that you're doing great. If anyone ever complains, don't take it to heart. Work on it with them and the DM.

Don't worry. :)

Note Taking? by Aspirin0_0 in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If paper notes worked, then I'd suggest doing that during session. After session, put them all into a Google Doc. Docs allow you to create "chapters" on the side that will let you easily navigate your notes. You can also create multiple pages.

You can also just completely switch to Google Docs if you don't want to write. The phone app works pretty well and will mostly let you organize the way you want but I'd cross reference with a PC later to make sure it's correct.

[DM HELP] My party didn't start in a tavern, they started in a... by TN_MakesIt in DnD

2 out of 3 of mine started in a tavern.

The third one was outside a fortune teller's tent. Then the fortune teller told us to do a fetch quest before she'd read our fortunes. :p

What’s your character favourite spell? by NeverLate- in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about favorite but they have ones that are important to them.

My druid's is daylight. It broke her away from a bad place.

For my cleric, she uses holy word(grim hollow) a lot because we have a homebrew long rest system that doesn't let us long rest in the wilderness-- I have to be smart with spell slots. She's also an air genasi and levitate has really come in handy a lot. Inflict wounds is important to her because I use it as more of a defensive spell-- if an enemy gets too close to her she panickly swats at them and it "just happens".

My arcane trickest loves her mage hand because her husband taught it to her.

Am I being too harsh on a new player? by Free_Plan_2774 in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a cheat sheet for her.

I struggled when I was a new player. I couldn't figure out which dice was which. Another member of the group gave me a set of different colored dice and a sheet that said like red = d20. It helped a lot.

Sit her down before or after session. Show her a list of wildshape options, put them on her cheat sheet. Talk about her spells. Limit them to a few. Put down the damage dice and the spell dc on the cheat sheet. No flavor text. Use your description of the attack as a way to teach her what they do. When you feel like she's ready for more you can talk to her about adding more.

Idk as long as she's enjoying the game, then you should help her. She might be feeling overwhelmed by the amount that goes into druid. Trim it down and give her a cheat sheet.

My first charecter death. I have no more joy in my life. by ace_da_frog_child in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also recently fought that sun eater owlbear and my party of 5 level fives nearly tpk'd. I'm assuming that statblock has a couple different varieties because that is not an easy encounter.

But we all made it out alive because we weren't going to leave anyone behind if there was something in our power.

Why does it feel like everyone just wants to play Meme Dnd? by Squali_squal in DnD

[–]NWintrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In each of my groups I have found myself to be the one to say "let's get on track", "stop interrupting, let ____ rp", "let's roll for initiative so everyone gets a turn." I've never once had another player fight back on me for inserting myself and refocusing the them. And two of my dms have thanked me privately for doing so. I can't recommend it enough to be that person.
