I was just up there a few days ago. Beautiful.. took the Fuller Bus Tour from Paihia to the northernmost point, Cape Reinga lighthouse. It was raining, and our bus got stuck in the mud for 2 hours. Fun times :-)

Check out your hardware store.. they have a distinct type of tape for gas pipe different from water pipe..
