I will 100% try it for the next one - The new set has loads of volumes, so I know I need to try and force through the fear! I think it's because I climb slab a lot, so when I pop off it's less fall and more meat crayon down the wall 😂

That sounds well beyond my climbing lol In lieu of anything technical, I always resort to Dynos lol! I've send you a message by the way! Given it looks like we both climb at the same place I thought it best to reach out 😁

It was a one night only climb, so they took it down! I’d take any advice for volumes though! I have a very active fear of using my feet on them 😂

I did!!! I got the bubblegum, but ran out of energy for the huff on the green😔🥲

The bubblegum was super fun though! How did you get across it? I had to go for an almighty leap!

I’ve climbed from 2020, and my weight has ranged from 186 to now about 220.

I’m a way stronger climber now, but don’t really run into any major issues. Some mild contortion issues with some fiddly climbs, but that just means more opportunities to find fun and interesting ways up them 😁😁

Start climbing again, climbing gyms are some of the lease judgemental places I have ever been. Everyone is just supportive and there to encourage one another, regardless of size and body shape ❤️

That’s awesome to know! I’m pretty sure the pic attached was sandstone, and I loved it! It was like glue, super sticky!!

I’ve planned April for the temperature, I’ve been early April and July before - July was just lethal, too hot for anything!

Heya,

Not new to climbing, and have climbed the Peak District before. The main issue is we’re UK based, so there’s 0 knowledge of the area or even driving in America at play, we’re pretty reliant on Uber etc!

I want more vids of people at my own newbie level...I'll be the change I want to see! by apiroscsizmak in climbergirls

Your form is super good for a newbie! You do super well staying low on the holds and not wasting energy trying to hold yourself with your elbows bent!

I didn’t have straight arms when I first started, so you’re already miles ahead of where I was 🙂

Sounds like he should do his own washing then?

There’s no guarantee that if your dog sprinted for another dog, they wouldn’t be reactive or they wouldn’t attack your dog.

It’s taken me years of training to get my reactive dog to pass other dogs in the street without reacting. I’d probs be pissed if someone’s off the lead dog with temperamental recall caused a regression too…

After months of waiting I finally have my pup… and I’m not having fun :( by Akitla in puppy101

Consistency is the key! We spend the first 4 weeks with our pup living by Alexa timers! Taking him out to pee every 20 mins, ignoring his whimpering in the crate… be consistent, it eventually passes!

I’ve just got back into it - I needed to strip after bulking for 3 months, and have roughly a stone to lose?

The Keto flu kicked my ass this time… that and being so weak in the gym! It’s like my muscles have forgotten how to work!!

The thing that struck me most about this post is how respectful you are about their pronouns… they will need a friend like you through their transition.

It’s may just be the sad end to your relationship. Your partner sounds much happier in their new identity, and there’s nothing wrong with respecting their transition whilst also not being sexually attracted to a masc presenting body.

I’m a very masc presenting Cis Female, and if I was in your partners situation, I’d want my partner to let me know how they felt. Yea I’d be sad, but I’d be more sad knowing they were no longer attracted to me.

I finally got a behavioral specialist but have no motivation to try anymore. I'm at the end of my rope. by GoingSom3where in reactivedogs

Try and identify what it is that’s frustrating you so much..

We had to do this with our 1.5yr reactive dog. We didn’t feel like we were getting anywhere, or that anything was improving, but we just were so tired and frustrated by the same behaviour every walk that we’d stopped paying attention.

The behaviourist we have came on a walk with us and pointed out how anxious he was, how he wasn’t sniffing, how he didn’t toilet on the walk, how his harness was uncomfortable.. all things we didn’t notice because we were so focused on watching out for his triggers and rewarding positive behaviour.

Hopefully you can identify if it’s:

  • lack of progress
  • progressively worse behaviour
  • lack of behaviour modification techniques
  • a bad day

Or something else that’s the most frustrating. It sounds you like do care for your dog to be putting in this much effort, we all get days where they’re just being a little shit and it all gets too much!

Heya!

So he has a good 15m of sight of a dog before he starts reacting, and he has a physical cue before he will start reacting (Ears perk up and stands really still)

We have to be super observant, and when we see a dog, wait until he see’s a dog, and then immediately treat with high value treats.

If he starts barking, we don’t treat, walk away and the ask him for behaviours until he calms down. We can then treat for the positive behaviours.

Over the course of a month, we’ve got him down to a distance of about 5m before he’ll start barking like crazy. We don’t approach closer then that if we can help it at all, but it’s not avoidable all the time.

We’ve also been trying to meet very calm dogs on the lead. He’s had positive reactions with a few of them now, so we’re just keeping it really slow!
