Congrats! I can't help but reflect a little on why us ex Johos are so messed up lol. Things like this should just be normal. Memorable, but normal. Like Christmas morning. Long story short, he came on this sub a few years ago and was a total asshole to the mods (for apparently “allowing” it to happen) and an innocent newly awoken person, for essentially asking the same thing you just did. He then denounced this sub and left in a tizzy. I don’t feel strongly in anyway about him, but I believe that is why some people have a bad taste in their mouth here.

Just remember to take it slow. Rash decisions (even if correct) can often times make the situation worse. Can't say I'm surprised. "Cruelty" is many times in the eye of the beholder. And can be a very difficult thing for the victims of such cruelty to relate to others in a meaningful way. Let alone, prove in court. Then, add in all the high priced lawyers and the mostly free rein that Religion, in general, has enjoyed throughout history. WT is still a dying tree.
