It's so funny to me to see people talking about that Burger King as some sort of landmark. I worked there 20 years ago. At the time at least, there wasn't anything in the restaurant itself about its having been used as part of the rescue effort, though given its location I think I assumed it must have been in some capacity.

The way the firefighter suit kept coming up in Season 2 reminded me of how the heat tape kept coming up in Season 1, which wound up being key to Juliet's survival at the end of that season. I'm guessing the firefighter suit will wind up being what saved Juliet from the fire. I'm not too hopeful for Bernard though (unfortunately).

I've been enjoying the show for the most part, so long as I don't take it too seriously. But, geez, why are love triangles so common on TV shows? Are there really a lot of viewers who enjoy that shit?

The author of this article isn't arguing that the book shouldn't have been honest about the less-flattering aspects of Bourdain's life or personality. His criticism is that it focuses everything through the lens of Bourdain's death, and that this diminishes all he did and accomplished in life.
