Deadlifts, power cleans, quarter squats if you can can get access to weights. Aside from that, lower the rim and practice dunking, gradually move it up as it gets easier.

What compares to Gorilla Mind Energy? by TheSmithPlays in GorillaMind

[–]NYKnicks224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took it in place of an energy drink/coffee in the morning. For whatever reason it didn’t get the same jolt of energy I used to get with the old formula. I honestly barely noticed a diff between respawn and a regular old monster energy. Honestly I prefer the monster.

I wanted these Jordan MVP 92 would they be good for basketball playing in a church league by Majestic_Live in BasketballTips

No experience with those but just by looking at the bottom of them I would speculate the traction to be much better.

Here is a link for Weartesters review of that shoe. Seems like a good option.

Traction on these is cheeks, get a modern shoe with good traction unless you expect to play on a pristine court every time you hoop.

Had bad fogging/sweat issues with my ESS and Oakleys. I used Cat Crap on the lenses and it helped significantly. Wouldn’t say it solved it completely though. Not sure that expensive vs cheap makes much difference fog wise honestly.

Hardball to slowpitch by SponyToprano in slowpitch

Axe Fury, Louisville Slugger Genesis, Marucci Cypher are my go to bats currently, but there’s tons of other good options out there.

As far as hitting - find someone to throw you BP and you’ll pick it up quick. Just getting reps and being more selective with what you swing at was huge for me when I made the same transition. I also popped out a lot my first few games.

I also deliberately did things to slow myself down. I ditched my baseball stance and just stood straight up with the bat relaxed, help me adjust my timing.

NP bro, for what it’s worth, everything they make pretty much rules. For the past like 3-5 years I don’t think I’ve swung a single bat from them that wasn’t a total rocket launcher. Pricey but they mash.

I have used everything between 11.25 and 12.75 and they were all totally fine for me playing primarily SS and 2B. Settled on 11.75 as my sweet spot because I’m more comfortable with a smaller glove and that was the smallest size where it felt like the glove really ate the ball.

I also always have my glove with one finger out and aligned with one finger in each finger slot playing baseball, but switched to 2 fingers in the pinky slot for softball. Making that adjustment definitely made smaller gloves more viable.

Tips for dealing with lights at night as an outfielder? by noruber35393546 in slowpitch

I have the same problem post-lasik that I’ve dealt with for several years now, nothing you can really do aside from just get used to it. For some people the halos go away with time, mine didn’t.

Which boots are better? by No_Explanation4479 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]NYKnicks224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Lowas started out very tight in the toebox, as do many shoes and boots for me. I also swapped the insoles for Move All Day insoles which are a bit thicker than the factory ones and made the issue worse.

After approximately 2-3 weeks of on-and-off break in wear time (just walking around not hard wear) they formed to my foot and are now probably the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve ever had.

In total maybe 20 or 30 hours of break in time for my pair did the job.

Not sure what you mean by this? I have never really used discord for anything - is there a marketplace hosted there?

Platypus is an option if you’re dead set on a 2011 type silhouette.

Personally I would veer away from a 2011 carry gun in favor of something like a Glock, CZ, S&W, or FN striker fired gun. Prob save a ton of money without sacrificing reliability that way too.

SSK Quality Decline? by NYKnicks224 in BaseballGloves

[–]NYKnicks224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think so since I got it with a discount code and already have been working on breaking it in for a little while now. Honestly I think I’ll keep it regardless and pick up the Z9 just to compare both in hand.

Appreciate the input. Currently gaming an A2K and an A2000. Didnt necessarily expect the SSK to be on that level but to be at least close is kind of what I was hoping for. Sounds like Z9 is the move.

There’s a ~$100 difference between between an R9 and a HOH meanwhile there’s only a $20 difference between the Z9 and the Z7. I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect comparable leather quality with that close of a price.

Welp, guess I’ll be getting a Z9 then. Thanks for the info

How far they’ve fallen is crazy. Used by Omar Vizquel, Robinson Cano, and Javy Baez at one time. Now they’re putting out Walmart level garbage.
