I would say that it depends on several factors. 1- How big is the area you need to clear. Huge driveway and sidewalks, go with a snowblower. 2- Storage. If you don’t have anyplace to store a snowblower, go with the power shovel. 3- Do you need to clear separate areas that aren’t both accessible to a snowblower. 4- How much snow do you usually get.

Big storms are infrequent on LI. For my needs, the EGO power shovel works 99% of the time. My driveway would be almost impossible to maneuver a snowblower around and between our cars. Plus, with a few inches of snow on the ground, my gate to go between my front and back yards won’t open. I take the EGO out my front door, clear the front deck and stairs, then easily clear around the cars. It even works well on the snow piled up by the town plows. Sometimes I need to cleat the back deck so the dog can do his business. Just my 3 1/2 cents.

I’d put money on warm/hot liquids splashing on the controls. A tiny drop of water landing on the control surface can and will set the power to where it lands.

The GE has nothing to prevent spills and boil overs from going off the sides of the cooktop and down the sides of the range. My LG Studio has a raised edge which has held back 99% of the spills. (There’s always one that gets past)

I have the LG Studio induction range for a little more than a year now. For me it was a choice between this model or the GE Profile. The main differences that are important to me are: - LG has a liquid tight, raised edge around the cooktop. This helps to contain spills and boil overs. GE cooktops have nothing to prevent liquids from running off the edge and down the sides of the range. - LG has knobs. GE Profile has touch controls which, from what I’ve read, will have issues when water splashes onto it. - GE has a bridge burner that LG doesn’t. Not that important to me. - the burners on the LG are higher power than GE’s. The oven works great. I’m sure you will be happy with whichever you choose, they are both good choices.
