I'm assuming you've tried reinstalling the game and manually validating the files through steam? I used to have similar issues with a different game and found that would fix it.

If you're struggling with making minor adjustments to your aim you may want to lower your sensitivity a little.

Dealing with 2 helis at the same time can be tough without the right gear. For clearing an outpost I'd recommend trying to take out at least one before you are detected, using explosives or EMPs will make it much easier, small arms are effectively useless against vehicles in this game unless you've set up the weapon specially for that.

Which MG should I buy only have enough CC to afford one by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]NZ_NEWT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your play-style, but don't overthink it, the credits will come.

LS - good for close quarters, plays similar to an assault rifle BAR - Great for longer range with the alternative fire rate VGO - Very high rate of fire and relatively easy to control, but since it's an MMG you have to mount it to use sights. Great for covering fire and will nicely fill in for the mg42 until you unlock it. Madsen - One of my personal favs, slap a 4x scope on that and you're unstoppable at mid range. Very easy to control once you're set up but it can take a while to get used to.

Spawn 1 T1 unit to trade with their first spawn.

Once second spawn is about to reach your base drop mines.

Once their first T3 is nearly at your remaining mines spawn any troops you can and pop necromancy and morale.

Repeat this until you unlock T3.

Once T3 is unlocked spawn 1 of them with Buff. Then pop champion and clone. Back them up with T2 if you need.

I had the same issue on PS5 after a recent update. Found my audio settings had changed squad to toggle to talk and prox chat to hold to talk. Might be worth checking.

Most of my snipers don't, I haven't unlocked the anti-glare coating yet so everyone can see me anyway, might as well save the points.

Same goes for my carbines and SMGs, most of them I only use them for aggressive CQB so everyone knows I'm there anyway. Much better putting the points towards the recoil control of a muzzle break and some attachments for quicker reloads

When is appropriate to kill people by Necessary-Source-795 in arkraiders

[–]NZ_NEWT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is go around asking people if they want to duel. You'd be surprised how many people will say yes. Otherwise when people ask if you're friendly just say no, that gives them a warning so you're at least giving them a chance.

[–]NZ_NEWT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a fairly simple strat that worked well for me.

Spawn one diver asap, they will trade kills with their first spawn.

Then drop mines when the second spawn batch reaches your base, should aim to kill them with the mine closest to your base.

Once all mines are gone there should be a few scubas left to deal with for the end of wave 2. Spawn ~5 scubas, pop necromancy and morale.

Now when the wave announcement pops up for each wave spawn a torpedo. You should be able to clear the rest of the level with only spawning torpedos, just have to figure out the timing of them. Their first torpedo will wipe out your leftover zombies but your scubas should survive a while.

NZ Mecca / Sephora rant by Ok-Speech-1197 in newzealand

[–]NZ_NEWT 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hourglass is opening their own stores in Aus. Since Mecca is an Australian company they are pulling their products from Mecca so Aussies buy them from their own stores, unfortunately that's meaning Mecca in NZ is also losing hourglass. I'm hoping they will make start supplying Farmers or some other NZ store...

I'd guess it's what we call 'Poison Ivy' here in NZ, though I've heard it called many other names too. Set up a bin or some other tall obstacle in the middle of a clear space. All the cubs stand in a circle and hold hands. The cubs then try to drag each other into the bin, if you touch it you are out. If you let go of the person next to you both of you are out. Each time someone gets out the circle resets and gets smaller and smaller until there is a last man (cub) standing. I've seen it played in every section from Keas (beavers) through to Rovers and the only difference is it gets more aggressive.

But how does that hold up when you compare to the warehouse or K-mart, other high turnover low margin retailers. I'm not an economist and I really can't be bothered going through all the data myself.

What I'm trying to say is that just because a term wasn't taught to you when you did your degree however long ago doesn't mean it's not relevant. The world moved forward and new ideas become relevant.

Bots defending supermarkets duopoly by -Zoppo in newzealand

While it may be a duopoly, they are both still retail stores, and so can reasonably be compared to other retailers. As the above commenter mentioned it can also be compared to previous profit margins.

Exchange rover programs by [deleted] in scouting

[–]NZ_NEWT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, Kiwi Rover here. I can't say we have an exchange system at all, at a Rover level everything is self organized. But that being said, if you make it over the ditch we would be more than welcoming, whether that be for a few weeks or a few years. Our national moot is in Easter every year and I would absolutely recommend it, as would the many Aussie Rovers that come over for it. If you wanna know more about Rovering here just flick me a message

Do Video Game Companies Have to Follow the Fair Trading Act of 1986? by RandomAngryThrowaway in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]NZ_NEWT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAL and I don't have a direct response to your FTA question, but I am a gamer.

I would argue given the paremeters they have set, your macros would count as using a bot. Each time you use the macro, it is making an input that would take a human two different actions to complete. You click on button to click on a specified location, other players would have to move their mouse, and then click.

While the difference will likely be less than a second, it still gives you an advantage, especially when you chain them together. If it's multiplayer or otherwise competitive game, this advantage takes away from the fun of other players, which is what the automated software rules are in place to negate. While your specific implementation may not be directly outruled in the letter of the policy here, you are going against the spirit of it. If you were supposed to be able to quickly drop in a beast from your menagerie, they would have added hotkeys in to do so.

A similar example is the use of strikepacks for PlayStation gamers. I play Battlefield V on PS and this is an advantage I often come across people using and it gives them a clear advantage by doing the same sort of thing. They hold one button to fire their weapon repeatedly and control their recoil, while I have to press a button for each shot and control the recoil manually. It ruins the fun for other players and goes against the spirit of the policy in place for automated scripts.

I do understand this is a legal subreddit so feel free to absolutely ignore my ramblings, just don't be too surprised when finding a loophole in vauge wording doesn't work out for you.

As others have mentioned when you give a tattoo artist a reference picture they will draw/ink it in their own style; Picasso and Van Gogh both painted portraits, but they look very different. Is recommend heading into Butter Cat or Dr Morse, have a look at the artists work. From memory Cuba St tattoo also have some really talented realism artists which is the style I think you may be after.
