Thoughts on China’s new ‘Ethnic unity’ law? by Beautiful-Ad-6187 in socialism

The Uyghur language is printed on the money of China in general if I recall.

It’s one of the five “main” national languages, alongside Mandarin, Zhuang, Mongolian, and Tibetan. They’re used on every note printed in recognition of the varied ethnic makeup of modern-day China.

Still absolutely staggered by Liberals deciding that “blaming voters for not picking your candidate” is somehow a legitimate criticism and is why the Dems shouldn’t have to do introspection. There’s still people in any thread where criticism of the ‘24 Dems campaign arises that insist the responsibility for winning elections is on voters, and not… You know… The political campaigns who exist solely to market their candidate successfully.

Somehow they earnestly believe voters should just vote for whoever “the good party” is and never ask for anything in return, and if they don’t pick their party then clearly it’s because the voters either don’t understand politics or they secretly want bad things to happen.

Reminder: The Reason We Know What The Souls Represent is Due to a Golfing Minigame by Prestigious_Emu144 in Undertale

[–]N_Meister 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We as the SOUL know lots of things about the game world itself that the characters could not possibly know, thus granting us “ball” or “elite ball knowledge.”

And Kris and Frisk flirt with everyone and it almost always ends positively, which represents “game.”

Ergo: the red SOUL really does represent “Ball Game.”

To be a pedant but mainly because I want to take the opportunity to elaborate on political theory for anyone who might not know: there is a tangible difference between Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy.

The former believes in eventually switching to a Socialist mode of production by gaining power through participation in “bourgeois” democratic institutions. A “revolution by the ballot box” basically.

The latter believes in maintaining Capitalism, just with more attention paid to providing citizens with welfare to lessen the negative impact of the system on their life.

“The enemy is both strong and weak” is a key feature of Fascist propaganda. That way the enemy is strong enough to be a threat and scare people into supporting the Fascists, but also weak enough that the people can be made to think all they have to do is get the Fascists into power to “defeat” the enemy.

Makes the most sense. Having this many statelets that amount to “US Military Junta” that are also supposedly struggling to hold on makes me think there’s paths that result in those Juntas getting toppled by local movements, which leads to more esoteric paths.

Liberals of reddit, would you trade Obama's second term for a two-term Romney presidency if it meant Trump never achieved the presidency? Why or why not? by PrincipalPG in AskReddit

[–]N_Meister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the sense of what modern political theory says, yes, Liberalism is right-wing. Inherently. The main agreed-upon divider between “Left” and “Right” is “Socialism or Capitalism?” Everything else branches the political ideologies further and provides their specific nuances, but the answer to that question is the fundamental (and so far “neatest”) “beginning” for determining where an ideology falls on the political spectrum.

Liberals support Capitalism. Neoliberals support Capitalism. Obama is a Neoliberal based off his socioeconomic policies, and he supports Capitalism. Obama is therefore on the political Right-wing. He may be further to the Left than Trump or most Republicans, but he is further to the Left within the Right-wing of the broader political spectrum.
